sorry for the lack of creative skills but this is what we need:

Going to miss that place... Met my wife there.
+1 met my lady there back in 2003

They could opt to build an erector-set type stadium for somewhere in the neighborhood of maybe $70 million, but the stadium would be smaller than RayJay and full of metal bleachers.
Come on, Andrea, you can say it .... "Like the piece of **** they built in Oviedo".
hahaha my thoughts exactly... gotta be PC these days but you can tell she was going around it

As far as athletic facilities, here's the list of things that should be done.
1) Finishing the SunDome and Muma Center (yes, they ran out of money to finish some parts)
2) Corral upgrade
3) Fieldhouse
4) Tennis complex upgrade
5) Soccer practice facilites upgrade
6) On campus stadium
Does anyone know what is still unfinished?
-
My take is that they don't have a plan in place, or even on the back burner, for a stadium.
I feel this way as well, but also like to think that those plans would quickly turn up once a check was cashed

does this help?
edit - was hoping it would come out larger

I see cup holders in the seats :-)
Which picture??
I zoomed into this picture:

I was told that Cooper has been renovated since the last time I was there in 2004. Is this true?
Yes

I agree b2b, the design has to be solid... for $4.3 million, our sister to the east got a nice window-less warehouse:

I have a question
Something we MIGHT be overlooking.
DW specifically said "big enough to house an entire 120-yard football field but also give an indoor practice option for other teams like soccer, softball and baseball during inclement weather"
I think we may not be looking to build a standard rectangular facility. Baseball is going to require something a bit wider.
Probably not.
They already have batting cages over at the baseball stadium. Really it would be for conditioning and perhaps fielding drills. Last season, baseball held practice indoor at one of the northern schools, and it was essentially the size of the SunDome floor but with astroturf.
Looks like Wichita State is on top of it:

Ha while discussing size... check out the facility at Penn State featuring 2 indoor fields
Also found the facility at Michigan to be very impressive:

Recreational basketball is the only one who suffers until they find another spot for the courts. Soccer can always practice on the pitch within USF Track Stadium
-
Indoor facility would go in red box I believe
-
That sure looks like the exterior of most of our athletic buildings

Here is what approximately $16 million will get you - Auburn:

since we are on the topic, I saw last week this article about Syracuse's new indoor facility:

started a thread on this also, can the mods merge or delete mine

Per Woolard, it looks like its next on deck

ha yes, I should have been more specific Red. I know its an oak tree, I meant if anyone knew about its history or if it has any special designation?
-
Does anyone know anything about this tree in the quad? It's huge and looks pretty neat. We should have a name for it, similar to Toomer's Corner

I compiled some recent and historical images to showcase how far we've come in our short history. All images were captured at the same scale and road line work included for reference
