  1.

    Toro,

Size is in the eye of the beholder. In my opinion closer to a 50M pool than a kiddie pool.  As with everything on this board it will be received with "negative intent".  Our world is based on "emotion".  Sad, but true.

    As in 50,000?

I think he means 50-meter, as in Olympic sized

  2. No one has ever been able to explain to me why Suitcase City means anything to USF. Is the argument that straying off campus puts you in a bad neighborhood? Suitcase City is Bearss to Fowler, I-275 to the back of a ton of commerce running down Bruce B. Downs. They're no where near each other for a college student. Even if you walked west off of campus, you're running into Chili's, Panera Bread, the VA Hospital, a Wells Fargo. What student is walking/driving 3 miles, running into a ****** neighborhood, and saying its detrimental to the growth of USF?

This article should answer why this area is important to USF among others.

Channelside should be evolving as the economy begins to pick up. The Channelside district has just been sold to the Tampa Port Authority for a very reasonable sum.

so is vinik not involved then?

It is believed that the Tampa Port Authority bought the Channelside complex (the building, they already own the land) so they can in turn sell it to Vinik's group.  Prior to TPA acquiring the building, the bank who owned it was leaning towards selling to the Liberty Group.  TPA objected to the Liberty Group and created many hurdles to avoid them being the winning team for the complex.  Now TPA owns the building and land outright and are free to negotiate with Vinik

    Interesting..

"Closing the dining hall is the beginning of a long-term renovation project, which Assistant Vice President for USF Campus Business Services Jeff Mack said will include removing and adding new buildings, dining and retail establishments. The project, however, is still in early planning stages at the university."

Sounds like that dorm/retail complex with a potential Publix that I've been hearing about might be coming along nicely in the planning stage.

  5. OCS not needed,   Ask Pitt, Miami, USC, Baylor(for now), Temple, ect...  10 teams share stadiums  with pro teams,  USC plays in the LA Coliseum (not on campus) http://www.footballgeography.com/stadiums-shared-by-pro-football-and-college-football/

Legally yes, but come on, their stadium is across the street from campus.  Might as well be considered on-campus.
