I think the administration is doing a lot more to get students involved in football and athletics in general with orientation and things of the sort. Good turnout for the students, but we need to have 12,501 in the seats. Hopefully we work our way towards that number throughout the season.

I have been a Tampa Tribune reader all my life, and to this day I'm still trying to figure out why the Tribune employs Fennelly. The guy is a complete hack, and he is not good at his job. With all of the layoffs in the newspaper industry, this guy should have been the first to go.

Sounds like the freshman in the article that didnt get what they wanted are being whiney babies. "I didnt get Beta Hall with my friend from high school, waahhhh." This is a good problem to have, and hopefully USF expedites the building of additional housing that is planned.

So let me get this straight. Brighthouse dropped us because they want to get "more local" and do High School football games only? Do they have a viewership deathwish? How much more "local" can you go then showing the "local" major college football program?

Also, this means we have no tv deal locally. No Sun Sports, no FSN Florida, no Brighthouse. Awesome.

Yeah I agree with Joe and cmhatter. Go to Gainesville for a gameday or Tally. Go tailgate on their campus. It's a much better atmosphere being on campus. It's YOUR campus and YOUR stadium. USF games feel like NFL games.

I can see the Big 12 taking us and U of L. Why wouldnt they? We are in a big market, our fan base continues to grow at a large rate, and we have proven to be able to beat more storied programs. We bring a lot to the table. Sometimes I think the mindset of our fans is the problem. Some of our fans still look at us as this small time program that isnt worthy of being in one of those conferences. We are now considered a big time program (We are in an AQ conferences, whats left of the AQ at least), so its time for some of our fans to act like it.

Wont be able to attend due to my previous commitment to the Rays game/OAR concert, so I will be DVRing it and watching it when I get home. Hoping for a national title this year!

We could use some rebranding. I hate ESPN and what they have done. Just take a look at the ******** "Herbie Awards." Not one Big East school player mentioned in any of his awards, yet when it comes to the catagory of the next coaches to take a higher profile job, Skip Holtz and Charlie Strong are both on there, as if our schools are not "Big Tim" schools. ESPN has **** all over college football, and this isnt the last of it.

IIRC the locker room upgrade was the final part of the football complex gift. It will have a direct influence on recruiting and is a great upgrade over what was previously there.

Exactly. mviusa, you should do some research and see what other major programs have in terms of locker room. It's actually a really good recruting tool, as the players spend a lot of time in there.

This is good to know. I plan on doing some tailgating for basketball.

Really nice. Would also like to see some pictures of the players lounge, etc. Like the idea of the 35lb stone in each locker. Nice little tradition to start there.

Hate losing to those suck bags in any sport. Oh well, our stadium blows their stadium out of the water (Isnt that always their defense when we beat them?)

It would appear that this will continue to be an annual tradition with Vero Beach Sports Village building a true football field at the complex. First year they have had that.

I hope this continues as a tradition. It is probably a good recruiting tool as well.
