  1. Higher average attendance the past two years combined over Kansas, Vanderbilt, and Syracuse. Larger student base than all those schools. Bigger and growing TV market. And much more fertile recruiting, and recruiting in the future for that matter. That's just off the top of my head. And as a much younger school, you are actually arguing opposite your intended point.

Figured I'd toss this in here as it can go right into the rumors bin.

Had a conversation with a high level USF employee who wrote the following when I asked about any good news they'd been hearing:

"Fund raising campaign with a focus on small donations can have BOTH IPF and OCS paid for, in full, in record time. With very small individual investment. Alumni must be ready to activate. Critical for conference realignment. Shovel in ground once a certain level of fund raising occurs."

Now I'm not here to say whether this is going to happen or not and I wasn't about to argue counterpoint with a high level USF employee, but with the projected price tag of an IPF and an OCS you'd think it would cost a lot more than a bunch of small donation, especially when we are only talking what...25k die hards? Maybe more would come forward for an OCS but hey what do I know...just tossing out what I hear.

Doesn't this belong in the OCS Rumor Thread?

  3. Option 1, Root for UCF. Saturday leaves 6 11-2 teams jousting for 3 spots below 11-1 Miami with 11-1 Alabama not even playing a championsion game, and 12-1 Wisconsin losers in theirs. UCF beats a ranked team and the CFP idiots finally say, hmmmm.... Let's put an American team in the playoff and we get bunches of money. We do the same next year and suddenly the American being a P6 is very ligit.

Option 2, Root for UCF. No way in hell 6 teams end up with 2 losses. UCF ends up undefeated prompting a long offseason discussion on The American, the playoff system, and either we become that much closer to a P6 or the CFP expands to an 8 team playoff.

Option 3, screw UCF. Hope they never win another stinkin' game. Go Memphis, cheers your beers while watching a one loss American team have fun in the Peach Bowl. Frost goes to Nebraska, and UCF retreats back into obscurity once again.

  4. UCF didn't play a 12th game because of an Act of God.

A Hurricane. It killed 90 people in the United States alone and 134 souls overall.

If the CFP can look past Clemson losing to the most mediocre of teams because their #1 QB went down (which, correct me if I am wrong, is not a written judging standard for ranking teams according to the CFP), it could forgive UCF for not playing one more game in which 90 people died around game weekend.

Which brings another question: WHY IN THE HELL AM I DEFENDING UCF.
