bingo...florida hasnt done so well when your not UF..the big picture is getting kids to your school based on the style of football you play. FSU MIAMI AND UF..will always get the best off tradition alone..so were never going to get anymore than the occasional steal until we have reached that status. For now we must start playing a style of football that kids want to play in. OFFENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!! usually does it.

yea you guys have it allll figured out..must recruit florida well..very good quality..recruits florida well and has a strong defensive mind..likes i-form running...blah blah blah blah blah..Hire the coach who is going to INFLUENCE kids to want to play for him. Hire a coach who paints the picture to the next usf qb saying this is what you will do under my coaching. You will throw for 20 plus td's...A good coach will recruit florida well. You do not need florida ties to recruit florida well. You need a history of coaching that kids appeal to. That kids see results in. Immediate turn around is to hire a coach who understands how to spread the field.

leach..i get it history..time heals everything..he just made a kid sit in timeout..and the kid didnt like it..

toledo,tulsa,la tech, troy...all teams that score points and are in top 30 in offense..we need this type of coach..

i want a top 25 offense...we can achieve that..and we can imrpove defensively over time..but gotta go with what the roster says is your best bet..

lol at slick..come on man..its very easy to defend when we run the same routes and same plays every time..i mean defenses watch two games and know what our passing attack is. We have loads of talent there.

look at both sides of the ball..which is the faster route to being dominant..and beating the teams we currently have to play...come on now be realistic

Yea but lets be honest here guys...DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS..were trying to win a big east championship...not a national championship..and ill take time of possession anyday right now..

We have one of the top DUAL threat qb's coming in and if we hire a coach who will let him flourish he will stay I promise you.

We are a gimmick right now the worst thing we can do is become a boring pro style offense..WHICH HARDLY ANYONE RUNS IN FLORIDA....and fit our style of players or the offensive lineman we can get...

give up the RECRUITS WELL in florida..ITS ABOUT KIDS WANTING TO SHOWCASE THEIR ABILITY..THEY WANT TO GET STATS AND BE ON TV..we need a high powered spread offense..

MIKE LEACH should be #1 target IMO..

The rest are up and comers WHO KNOW HOW TO THROW TO WIN..

In all honesty..id go with offense at this point..if we want to get out of the big east we need to be wvu..and score alot..the big 12 would be attracted..people will want to watch..we need excitement in our program..

you guys are throwing out names and guys like the clemson dc..who has been atrocious...i mean honestly..it doesnt have to be someone big or from a big school..

TOP 30 offenses...la tech, tulsa,toledo,troy..they all like to sling it..WE put too much emphasis on who can recruit florida..KIDS WANT TO PLAY IN A SYSTEM OR BE APART OF A GREAT DEFENSE..they will come if they know they will FLOURISH..under a certain coach. It doesnt matter how well he can recruit if we run the same offense or defense we have been running. OUR strength is in our recievers and if the new coach can keep AW..we need to toss the ball ALOT...If we go flipside we need to go with guy with a great reputation for a stout defense...

as you can see they are clearly alot more active on defense and swarm to the ball...they disguise coverage by playing up and dropping back...we have 11 guys standing still most of the time

again Im worried...we need a QUALITY OFFENSIVE MINDED COACH WILLING to be a gunslinger..thats how we will win.

your worried about rb's? we always seem to have a servicable rb. lamar will be dominant...and so will shaw...im not worried. Who will play qb to get the ball to our WR'S..we need aw...and we need a coach who knows HOW TO SLING IT TO OUR WR'S DAVIS,D'VO,WELCH,PRICE,...THE LIST GOES ON..WE HAVE GOOD ENOUGH PLAYERS.

Hmm...The further you stay away from the ball actually makes it harder for you to take angles for tackles..tackling is a weakspot for us...were forcing guys to have to make tougher tackles instead of forcing guys to make tougher throws..doesnt seem like a good scheme to mee...once again its not talent..were getting good enough talent...granted i think recruiting florida is overrated nowadays anyway...but we have good enough talent.

Green qb this...Green qb that...he is not a good qb...and i get your defending him but grothe was green and daniels were green and they both wow'd us when they first made their appearances. This kid is not going to save our program. He is doing the best he can for his situation but he will not be lined up under center next season and we all know it.

if you practice playing soft how do you ever get better..if you have a bulldog mentality as a coach and stress it as a player and work on ONE ON ONE SKILLS..atleast with one side..you will develop kids.. you cannot assume lack of talent all the time. Guys we have played against crappier schools with crappier recruits and we have been defended well..you can excell with what we have. Wally Burhnam had guys who shouldnt have been as good as they were and Mccarney had guys playing well up front. It has alot to do with schemes up front and in secondary.

Yea I don't get how as a head coach you could pull a qb..and then put him back in the game. It doesn't make sense to the kid let alone the fans. It sends a message you do not know what your trying to do and your embarassing your team and the individual kid. One minute he isnt good enough and now he is. So goes the story of the tenure of skip holtz at usf. He has not been firm on anything he has ever said. He is a soft coach who does not have a PRIMARY focus on either offense or defense. A headcoach needs to have his imprint on one of the two. If you suck at one you better be good at the other. Holtz is a great guy. He has failed and he will probably never be looked at in the same light again. Its crazy to think this job was too big for him but it was and he got exposed. We need a coach who has a gameplan not with recruiting with coaching. With discipline. With an overpowering focus on either offense or defense. The recruiting will come after winning with what we have. Too many people put emphasis on the recruiting. If we can get some size upfront eventually we will need a coach who has a high powered spread offense attack. That is what were built for. Uptempo passing/qb designed run plays. It will fit AW if he so chooses to still be a bull.
