He was already a  felon ,was arrested  and out on bail for sexual assault  and battery charges of a minor under 12  from March,  and was breaking the law by carrying a firearm as a felon  Amazing criminals don't follow laws and one young man is  dead and others are hurt forever because he was allowed out on bail. Seems the Justice system and parole board failed the citizens again.

But by golly we'll put away those marijuana using potheads.

Exactly! When legendary coaches like Saban retire and pretty much state that the NIL is bad for college football then hopefully they do something to fix the issues.

Two ways of looking at that. One is your way. The other is that Nick was pizzed off that what he had been doing for years illegally was made legal and allowed the playing field to even out.

Agreed however we don’t heal quickly at our age 😀, get well Rich, you are a pain in the ass when healthy, so sending good wishes to the better half as well.

My biggest fear was going from her caregiver to having her do everything. She gets around fairly well with a limp but not sure she could have been 100% caregiver for me had I had to stay off my feet for six weeks.

Fair assessment. We all know that failure to play POWER-X schools, either OOC or in-conference, kills attendance. This is not USF of thirty years past, where we were just thankful to be playing the likes of Drake, Valparaiso, Elon, Davidson & Illinois State. As in so many ventures, it's either grow or die. People show up to be entertained, because that's what football is: entertainment. LSU at Ole Miss is on one channel. USF at Tulsa is on the other channel.

I'm good with the other channel as long as we're beating the crap out of Tulsa.

Jose has more misses than hits since COVID. Before that, seemed like everyone he brought in from overseas ended up as a significant contributor. Not so much with the past few classes - feels like more one-and-dones because of lack of production than ever before. Every run has an end, still, Jose and Ken have a very long leash in my mind. Their sub-par seasons are still +.500. That said, we obviously need to dominate this league the way it’s made up if we have any designs on something better.

There are more teams going after the international players. Remember him losing one to Geno a few years back.

    Heal quickly.

No alcohol involved. Just a goofy curb that started out flat and ended flat as it made a turn around a corner. Didn't see that it rose up and as I walked my foot was a bit more than 1/2 off the left edge and down I went. Did continue to walk with the people I was with and then had a beer but had to head back to the boat once I felt it start to throb.

Of the six victories last season, five of them were against teams that were <=.500 at season's end. The only team finishing the '23 season with a winning record was FAMU.  I think seven wins is a fair expectation with eight being surprising.  If you want to watch the AAC championship in person, gonna need a boarding pass. 😎

Totally agree with you. We beat no one with a pulse last year. The record looks nice but expected a conference title this season may be reach.

I'm glad to hear you were able to get out of Dodge but so sorry to hear about the foot! Let us know if you need anything...

Thanks. Will know better Monday. If he lets me stay in the boot things won't be horrible. If the Mrs needs to start moving me around then that will be a whole different thing.

  9. After nursing my wife back to health for a year and a quarter we finally got away on vacation. We got to take a river cruise that had been cancelled twice starting in 2020.  3 weeks starting with 2 nights in Amsterdam, then a 14 night river cruise to Budapest and then 3 nights in Prague. We had a great time and the wife's foot held up pretty well for the most part. One city was better than the next.  But 2 nights into the river cruise Covid reared it's head. 90% of the boat had it, including us, and no one said a word and everything went on as if nothing happened. We luckily had taken all the meds with us (thank you to one of the members here) and didn't have severe symptoms.

But on May 1st I half missed a curb, the ankle went under, I went down and learned for sure yesterday that I have a Jones Fracture in the foot. First few days was hoping it was just a sprain but just didn't feel like one as time went on.  After waiting 4 years i wasn't going to sit around on the boat or in a hotel and I probably averaged about 4 miles a day after the fall.  On the trip back on Friday had to half run through Newark airport for about 2 miles trying to keep up with the guy pushing my wife in a wheelchair.  It would really be nice for both of us to be healthy at the same time. Just in a walking boot for now but see an ortho guy on Monday to find out whether I have to get casted and go non weight bearing for a spell. Would really suk butt if that happens.

My doctor told me no chance of me playing in the NBA going forward.  😄

A side note, the boat had a great selection of Scotch as part of the drink package - Macallan 18, Highland Park 21, JW Blue, Glenfiddich 15 and others. The bourbon selection was nothing I don't have around the house so I drank a lot of Scotch along with an Old Fashioned here and there. Amazingly we had a great time despite dealing with all the other crap.

    Glad to be back home.

It's all in your perspective.  Whether it was the Bulls and the Threshers when I lived in Tampa Bay or the Bears and Crawdads now that I am in Hickory, I can still enjoy the minor leagues.

Well, you may have in the past but you moved up to the majors when you married your current bride. 😃
