    Not a prank.

    Official announcement here

they will also be able to check out video cameras, microphones and even drones. Students, who will be provided training in advance, will be able to check out the small remote-controlled airplane containing a video camera, which can be used to capture footage from an aerial view.

Which is interesting, because the FAA still forbids all drones - the only one licensed to date is for somewhere in Alaska, IIRC

    Edit: Yuppers, Prudhoe Bay

I'm pretty sure the FAA band is for commerical drones. Private drones used for things like photography aren't banned.

I don't have a link, but one of the spring practices had to stop using their drone. I think it was for a baseball team

Could be because they might be considered a commercial entity and could use the footage for promotional puposes? I really don't know for sure but for the sake of conversation just throwing it out there. I would think that they opperate under the same rules as remote controled model airplanes?

If I remeber correctly, I think that guy died from the fall.

Also, is there anyway we can trick smazza into posting on the UCiF board for a while? So he can bug them instead? I think he would be great at trolling the hell out of them.

  4. Sorry, just some constructive critisism here but they really need to do something about their website to increase online sales (and no I'm not talking about the recent issue with pictures not loading). I have been on the site in the past and it seems like most of the stuff is outdated and the newer things aren't on the website. I mean if you look at the site, they have old football jerseys from maybe 3 seasons ago marked at $70? (new ones at the bookstore are that price) Adidas Big East basketball jerseys for $80? (This may be in part because I think they don't sell under armour gear anymore, I'm guessing it was too expensive to keep in stock). They also have a whole section on the left hand side for "Notre Dame Game Gear", which also screams dated. Presentation is a big part in selling merchandise, especially online.

Also, do they even sell anyhting graduation related? Dipolma frames? Announcements? Maybe a rental service for regalia? I know I had to buy my masters regaila outright but would have been nice to be able to just rent it for a cheaper price.

I agree that we all need Bulls Outfitter to succeed, otherwise the bookstore will basically have a monopoly on Bulls gear in the Tampa Bay area, but they do need to work on some things on their own to get more business in and find other revenue streams in a down market.

  6. As the Coaching Search is now well into the 3rd week, just wanted to reiterate how incompetent Mark Harlan and Judy are!

I have to laugh looking back at some of the excellent candidates that were mentioned for this job and now we are down to the coaching nomad in Musselman. Musselman would be a terrible hire as he seems to jump around way too much and does not have much coaching experience at the college level. He does have a hot wife though!
