  1. Voted optimistic... My gut says...

Three probable wins (Howard, Tulsa, Temple)
Four Toss ups (BYU, ECU, SMU, Tulane)
Four Probable Losses (UF, Louisville, Cincinnati, Houston, UCF)

Win the games we're supposed to, split the toss ups, and upset someone and we're @ six wins.

I think there was enough positive change in player personnel and staff during the off season to get us there. Really need to win some games and GREATLY boost our recruiting this coming year.

Long way to go still. Go Bulls.

    Dude. Same.

Would like to chip in my two cents (because that's what this if for, right?).

    Preferred Scenario
B10 & SEC snag a couple ACC schools each (lets say FSU Clemson GA Tech and one of Miami or UNC), but leave behind most of our old Big East conference mates. ACC picks up WVU, Cincy, USF and (insert any school here).

Unlikely scenario as I'm not sure that the money would be enough to lure away WVU/ Cincy back from their current conference; but that would be my first choice for how things would shake out. Would be playing all the old favorites (Pitt, WVU, Louisville) without playing any of the old hated ones (rutgers and C.)

They're going to need a lot of affordable level upgrades because of the number who currently have Club access. It's going to be real interesting to see all the pricing breakdowns ....

Yeah, I'm more than a little worried about being priced out of club seating.

Can you list some of those positives?  I am geniunely curious

    Sure.

    Tangible first
Players and coaches not getting in physical altercations with each other on the sidelines.

Players not quitting when a game is 'Over'; general effort seems to be better
Progressive improvement from game to game (So far) in 2021. Many freshman playing and being put in position to be successful

    In tangibles next
HCJS came from a winning program with a winning culture, he has successfully brought that to USF
Talent coming in seems to be much better than that going out
General comments about the type of person HCJS is and how he interacts with his players and thier families, leads by example etc

Just a few from the top of my head. Go Bulls.

How does winning zero FBS games make you a solid football coach?  Maybe he would be a solid coach in the FCS where he has a 2-0 record, but right now he is a big fat turd of an FBS coach.

The thread asked if we see the potential in HCJS to be successful here long term. Even after only two wins in 365+ days, I can firmly say the answer to that question is yes. Lots of positives outside the W column to indicate this, hopefully it translates over soon and we can get back to winning more consistently. Could be wrong, but just wanted to answer honestly, based on my gut.

  6. HCJS is a solid football coach, and definitely has the potential to be a great one. I hope he does well and stays for a long time. I really want some stability for USF and I think he's got the right mix of qualities USF needs in a leader. I can't guess what his long term ambitions are, whether they be trying to land at a larger program or building this one up to what we all want it to be.  I hope it's the latter.

    Go Bulls.
