Don't think its a big loss. Guy needs to put on serious weight to even be considered a change of pace back. Good luck to him

Ward didn't come in last weekend?Starting the list
Vontarius West, CB
Eric Mayes, DE
Auggie Sanchez, LB
Johnny Ward, CB
Darius Whitty, CB
Zach Benjamin, WR
Robert Garcia, OG
Michael White, QB
Pretty sure Ward is in Athens visiting UGA

Thought we had another big group coming in this upcoming weekend. Wish we could've brought him in sooner.

3 star RB (per espn) was offered today per a twitter conversation he had w/Mikey Bart. Looks like he was being recruited by CWT at WKU. Sorry for lack of links but I'm on my phone
@Deeinthecut
@MikeyB_44 that's wassup south Florida just offered me today

I'm guessing we threw that absurd amount so they would let us negotiate with other networks...right...right??

Same thing they said about Alfred Morris. One of the best 6th round picks in the history of sports.I guess when all else fails on the RB front which looks more and more likely it will; he's a good option. I love that he absolutely wants to be here but am worried about him running between the tackles. Just don't think he is a feature back in a pro style offense
+1
Based only from viewing his highlights it looks like he likes to bounce to the outside a lot which he got away with at this level but will be aiot tougher for him at the next level, size is a concern also but I like his spunk. Get him behind a big line and let him disappear and do his magic.
One good year at RB and you make that statement? C'mon man!
Until Morris proves otherwise, he's just a modern day version of Mike Anderson. Both were 6th rounders and their rookie seasons under Shannahan were pretty comperable.

Haha you guys always say it was his only playing time...You cannot expect him to do well. Well if he was any good he would do well. There are not too many qbs you go from flat out sucking to being good college qb's. Grothe and Daniels showed alot in their first appearances. Your making excuses for him. Flloyd will never be a starting qb at this level. If Eveld or Flloyd is our starting qb next year we have failed.
They had success b/c In their 1st appearances they showed the ability to run around and make something out of nothing. Although both had some success doing that, thats all they were ever really able to do in their time here. I don't know if Floyd is the answer, but judging him on limited playing time on a team that was already falling apart is a bit harsh.

Wouldn't mind cutting him loose

BYU
National following. Their fans will pack stadiums whereever they play.
Big Leftover Conference needs BYU & AF.....
Not sure why people make such a big deal out of BYU. They fill their stadium but they've pulled pretty crappy TV ratings since they signed their contract with ESPN. Their national merchandise sales aren't all that impressive either.

The last person we hired in a coaching capicty because of "Name" turned out to be a horrible thing for us. (Skip Holtz).
If Weinke can coach and has the creditentals and experience than Im all for it, But we need to hire someone who is proven, Not just because he played College FB, won a Heisman as a senior Citizen and helped Scam Newton get ready for the NFL. (Btw how is Scam doing this year in the NFL)?
What experinence does Weinke have other than the things listed above?
He is director of football operations at IMG. He runs QB camps for some of the top talent in the country. Think he would be a good fit.

Hopefully Ryne Giddins can finally live up to the hype too. Him and Lynch are gonna be a nasty duo. I also foresee Eric Lee having an awesome sophomore year. We have BCS talent but playing in a non-BCS conference this year. I think Willie T will definitely motivate this group more than Skip ever did. Should be exciting.
But wait, wasn't he a 4 star recruit that we stole from a bigger school?
</sarcasm>
Giddins was fine until he got fat. Don't know if that was him getting lazy or coaches trying to bulk him up. Whatever it is, he looked too big and too slow this year.

List of guys who would fit in the budget and whose names I haven't heard on here. I prefer younger guys, no retreads
Darrell Hazell - Spent some time in the old big east and at Ohio State. Had a good year as HC at Kent State
Mike Bobo - Current OC at UGA
Manny Diaz - Just completed 1st year as DC at Texas. From Miami
Brent Venables - DC at Clemson. Spent years under Stoops at OU
Mike MacIntyre - Has done a good job turning around San Jose State (1 win in 10, 5 in 11 and 10 this year). Former DC at Duke and DB coach w/Cowboys & Jets
Mentioned him a while back. Guy also spent some time in the NFL

I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS GUY HAS NOT BEEN SIGNED BY NOW.
Do you guys not understand the type of talent that he will recruit in our state?
Our practice facilities are top notch (though it wasnt reflected on the field, but thats on the coaching), Taggert is a Harbaugh-type coach who will get everything at practice.
He will be the only African American coach in a big FL school.
Hes young
Woolard,
I swear, if he doesn't end up being our head coach...
Serenity now. There is a process that must be followed.
What process.
Woolard: Willie, do you want to be the next head coach at USF. I'll pay you 1.5 million per year.
Willie: Yes. Sign me up.
(DW and WT shake on deal).
Yes it can be that easy. Deals get done this way all the time.
Why in the hell would we pay a Sun Belt coach $1.5 million?
He has not done anything at our level of football yet and many want to give him a $1.5 million salary?
If we get Taggart it had better be for $1 million or less.
Even if he really wants to be here...$1MM probably isn't going to cut it. Saying "he has not done anything at our level of football yet" is failed logic. If he had success at our level then he would be out of our price range or an older retread.

Would like to see Scott and Patrick stay on the staff somehow. Both are good recruiters and would which would help going forwards
-
Can't blame him. Tough to stay committed when you don't know who will be in charge of your college years. If he likes the next staff and decides to come, great, if not, on to the next...

Grass in the 2nd pic doesnt look in the best of shape. It reminds me of visiting friends at the UM campus a few years back and seeing a guy spray painting patches green haha

Looks pretty spiffy. And the sports bar's going to be a Beef's? I don't think I had heard that before...
First I've heard of it as well. Too bad they had to build the thing after I graduated!

Correct. Has a good chance of being a high draft pick. Hard to pass up the signing bonus $$$
