Speaking of the draft, I gotta say, it was odd that Scott left with no indication that he would be drafted highly. Kind of a gamble unless he decided that anything was better than playing another season for Skip. I always thought there was something telling in that decision.

He was going to academically ineligible. Scott and academics were about as good a match as Fitch and a gameplan.

With two in the books we need to win all 5 of these to get over 6. I don't think we do, I think we lose to Miami and Syracuse but surprisely win over UConn to finish right at 6 and get to go to the Beef Bowl.

We don't have to wait until October for BE title hopes to go down in flames.

Way to go 0 for 6 passing with the game on the line. USF doesn't need all that much nimprovement, just need to get a running game, passing game, running defense, passing defense and special teams. Other than that we are a great team.

FSU and Virginia Tech aren't leaving the ACC tomorrow. There hasn't been a peep out of VT that suggests they're looking to move. In fact, their AD pledged his loyalty to the ACC in May. Could he have been lying, sure, but I doubt it.

And what the hell is ESPN desperate for? Total domination of the sport? They basically have it and they aren't going anywhere. They're bigger than they've ever been.

Its not the domination of the sport that ESPN is after. As the B1g network has proven college football has been undervalued in TV contracts. As long as ESPN is the only real player it real remain that way. If, however, NBC is able to establish their network with another conference that draws good ratings then the competition for college sports will begin. This means that ESPN will have to increase payouts to keep their conferences and programming. This is all about ESPN maintaining profit margins far more than dominating college football. EXPN at themoment is the only real player in the game, they gain tremendously from that. NBC could possibly kill that bird, so it is necessary for ESPN to try to kill the BE so that NBC is left with nothing.

Also winless on ESPN on Thursday night, but we have won a Thursday night game it just wasn't on ESPN.

Might just be me but yesterday resembled the USF offfense in 2001. Pass first, use mid range passses to set up bombs, run just enough to keep the LBs honest. I know the fomrations are different but the style of play was similar. I wonder if Fitch will realize that this is USF offense, this is the style when we do the best. If BJ doesn't sail a few balls this team doesn't get stopped at all yesterday. BJ made plays at the end.
