  1. The GOOD - Defense played hard the entire game and didn't show signs of wilting as the game went on. Good when you consider that Louisville held the ball 3x more then we did.

The BAD - Defense couldn't stop the 3rd and shorts contributing to the long time that Louisville held the ball.

The UGLY - Offense. A recurring theme. This is the first game I can recall where we didn't get enough yards to get the Free Pizza for ticket holders. We are also now 12 quarters without an offensive touchdown. Enough said about this continuing disaster.

This team could be decent (not great) if it had any offense at all.

  2.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a double reverse to hopkins. This is probably a game where we see 40+ run plays to grind it out and keep Teddy off the field.

I totally agree we need to snap the ball with as little time as possible left on the play clock and just pound the ball all day long.  Eat up the clock and keep Teddy and company on the sidelines.  I just hope that Coach Chucky B doesn't decide to rush 3 down linemen and drop 8 into coverage like he did in the first half against UConn.  If UConn's receivers could catch and their QB was a little more accurate we would have lost on Saturday.  Plenty of drops and complete over or under throws to WIDE OPEN receivers, Teddy Bridgewater will light us up if he tries that garbage.  I was disappointed that Coach Chucky B didn't use lots of pre-snap movement and exotic blitzes against a true freshman QB making his 1st career start to create some confusion!.

If he tried pre-snap movement and fake blitzes the only team he would have confused was ours

  3. The Good - Defense was able to get key stops, adjustment to put game in hands of QB proved the right move. Frosh showed that they can play and are getting experience. Kloss is once again the teams scorer.

The Bad - Offensive passing game still looks like pee - wee league, receivers not getting open. First half run defense (especially first quarter) was bad.

The Ugly - In a recurring theme, QB play was poor. Better protection today but Eveld panicked frequently and scrambled when he didn't need to. Decisions on fielding punts or letting them go continues to need work.

The offense today showed that it can work if the QB can complete passes. USF's two offensive drives at the end of the first and second halves had the UCONN defense back on its heels reacting instead of attacking. It is interesting that 75% of Evelds completed passes were on those drives (first half 3 of 9, second half 3 of 4). The first scoring drive also had a pass completion.
