  2. USF Defensive Coordinator Is Back In Tampa Posted Dec 22, 2006 by Vidisha Priyanka Updated Dec 22, 2006 at 01:47 PM By Brett McMurphy The Tampa Tribune BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - University of South Florida defensive coordinator Wally Burnham will return to Tampa on Friday night to be with his ailing mother, Cora, who has congestive heart failure. Burnham and the USF football team are here preparing for Saturday’s Papajohns.com Bowl against East Carolina. It is unclear whether Burnham will be back in time for the 1 p.m. (EST) kickoff. USF coach Jim Leavitt said family comes first and Burnham needs to take care of his family issues and that should be his No. 1 concern. http://www.tboblogs.com/index.php/newswire/story/usf-defensive-coordinator-back-in-tampa/
  3. Although winning championships is important if you look at the big programs in the state UF has 1 NC, FSU has 2 and Miami has 5, each of those schools have been around for awhile. I would have to imagine that most players are going to those schools for the possibility of playing at the next level, more so than playing for the NC. Also winning a championship does not guarantee future success refer to BYU. Consistently putting players in the NFL will do more for a program over the long run than winning an NC once every ten or twenty years.
