Just heard it from a friend who's father is on the AD for football at USF. Skip will be handing his papers in tonight after the Pitt game.
If he resigns he will forfeit his contract and not receive any more money. Why not wait to get fired and receive the $2.5M buyout? The only way he resigns is if he is pursing another job.

We're 0-2 in the Big East.
-
We have to get out of the Big East. The conference just turned in to CUSA. I hope Doug is on the phone with the Big 12, but I doubt it. Him and Judy seem overly committed to the Big East, unfortunately.
They've said that they're committed to the Big East and envision USF as the premiere program in all sports. They're thinking that they'd rather be at the top of the Big East than the bottom of a power conference. If the conference signs a good TV deal then this is not a bad position to be in, if not, we'll be mired in mediocrity until we can get out.

I am betting that ND ends up signing with ABC/ESPN once their NBC deal is up. That would certainly help the BigEast when it comes to a deal with NBC.
-
This hurts the possibility of an NBC contract too. ND will now be on ESPN as an ACC member. Previously they were in line to move with the Big East to NBC for all sports broadcasting.
-
- This is not a huge deal, it hurts alittle but Notre Dame was not a full member. The loss of them for basketball hurts slightly, but there are not a huge amount of Notre Dame basketball fans.
This is by far the one loss that hurts the least.
At face value it hurts the least, but the perception of the conference takes another huge hit. The Big East is open game for anyone to come in and take whatever they want.

I know people will say, "Good, who needs them, it doesn't matter," but this is a big deal with tv negotiations starting and with conference realignment and shuffling. Horrible news for the NBE.
Good timing for ESPN to broker this deal. We're still in the exclusive negotiating window with them, so this makes our conference less valuable, therefore they will low-ball us even more.
Yup, this has ESPN back-door tactics written all over it.
ESPN is single-handedly destroying college football. They've effectively reduced the amount of haves to 63 (Pac12, Big12, ACC, SEC, Big10 and ND), which all but eliminates the have nots (every other conference and team) from competing for a national championship.

When will the NCAA sanctions come down?

greg just put up an article yesterday where we extended Rayjay through 2016....
"As was the case with the previous agreement, USF can opt out of the contract so long as the Bulls provide 24 months' notice before the termination date."

Isn't this tourney double-elimination? We were down one to Hofstra, might be apt after all.
Yes, it's double elimination. We'll play either LSU or California next.

I recently got a Droid phone and have little clue as to how to use it. Anyone on here able to help an old Bull out with tips on how I can get the softball game on ESPN2 on the phone?
Get the WatchESPN app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=air.WatchESPN&hl=en). If you intend to stream the game over 3G/4G, and not WiFi, make sure you have unlimited data because it will burn through a limited plan pretty quickly.

that gives me chub.
i wonder if the floor is going to have the key painted green, like in one of the other renderings. i'm torn, the whole wood floor almost looks better, the green was kinda odd and stood out.
and i'd almost prefer a huge iconic U at half court instead of the "U"SF, have that full acronym logo smaller at the quarter court areas opposite the "sun dome" markings.
Yeah, I was hoping they were going to drop the wordmark and just go with the U, too. And paint the key.
That looks really nice. Did you make it?

What is the status on Rock II (our live bull mascot)? I thought he was going to make an appearence at a game this year?
Is he going to be ready to go at next years home opener?
-
There are no dates of any kind on the ID's. They do scan them though, but maybe that just records the number of people who attend the game? A friend of mine has been out of school for 3 years now and his ID still passes when they scan it.

A lot of recent USF Alumni that I know still use their old student ID's to get in for free.

He's making $1.15 per year. Very reasonable.
