  1. From The Oracle:

"HCSO: Suspect is black male in his 20, tattoos on neck and arms with medium length dreds."

And I agree. I think its outrageous that an "event is over" message is sent while the suspect is still at large.  The message just said the investigation continues, no mention that an armed and dangerous man is on the loose.  It seems we have still have some work to do with our emergency system.

  2. Sorry Mods, just wanted people to be alert before they head out for the morning. Please move once the all clear is given.

    According to The Oracle:
DEVELOPING: Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Larry McKinnon said a suspect reportedly bound four males and sexually battered four females at Cambridge Woods apartments before fleeing on foot to Oaks Apartments on foot, where he forced 25 people attending a party into a room at gunpoint and fired at least one round. McKinnon said the suspect remains at large, but that after the use of K9s and helicopters, he is confident the suspect will be found.

  3. Something that should echo in your heads when you're making these terrible comments and hateful speech

You are talking about your fellow classmates. Win or lose, these student athletes are still part of your USF family. They sit right next to you in class, they study at night just like you do.

Anyone can hoot and hollar when a team is doing good. How you treat your fellow student athletes when they are struggling, reflects more on YOU as a human being, than it does them as an athlete.

These are our fellow students and future alumni of USF. Let's not lose the big picture here, the purpose of college is to get an education. It's also time for you to learn compassion and understanding.

Win or lose, these are your fellow USF students. Please show some class and understanding. They need your love, they need your prayers, they are suffering through one of the hardest times in their academic and athletic careers.

I'm sorry, "hateful speech"?  Where have you seen our players being verbally abused with hateful speech?  I've seen plenty of well-deserved criticism, but nothing that would go as far as to be called "hateful speech".

  4. These guys did not celebrate each tackle. or touchdown, of which there were plenty.   They showed what CWT BS'ed about, blue collar work ethic.  They came in, did there job, kicked our ass, and never once stood at mid-field like a pimp jumping up and down celebrating a mediocre play.

Get the ghetto out of the program, and act like you have done this before.

Nothing is more demoralizing than a big hit, when the guy gets up and walks back to his huddle like it was nothing.  You know it will be a long day.

One game and you're calling BS? Lets at least make it to game six before calling him a liar. How do you know he wasn't chewing them out this morning doing up-downs for not being tough.

Ghetto? Would you care to elaborate on this point? I really would like to know what you mean by that.

But I completely agree with you about them celebrating. You're down 3 TDs and you want to start jawing after you hit a guy for a net zero run.

  5. I can see it now......

"Hey. I've got a great idea for the opening game."
    "Oh yeah? Let's hear it."
"Since it's the first game with the new coach, and we're sure to beat McNeese State, why don't we surprise everyone with fireworks afterwards."
"Great! It'll really add to the festivities and momentum we have going. What can go wrong?"

  6.

Actually, we can blame Holtz for some of this... these are his players that are starting, after all.  This isn't a case where a coach left a winning program for a better program (like Brian Kelly leaving Cincy for Notre Dame).

No, Holtz drove the program into the ground and left us with too many players who either don't have talent -- or don't have the mental toughness to play a game when it's not handed to them.

Holtz may have driven this team into the ground. But this was a team that looked far worse than it did at the end of last year. We may have stunk last year, but us stinking, was losing by 10-20 points to Big East schools. We also won our opener by 21 points, took one of the best teams in the country to the final minute, and had FSU on their heels in the second half.

I'm not glamorizing our season last year, but the Holtz coached team last year looked WAY better than the one we saw last night. Coach Taggart has had 8 months to prepare for this, and he executes on of the worst performances in the history of college football.

Not completely disagreeing with you, but just something to consider that Holtz had the last of Leavitt's players last year. Taggart has just his freshmem and Holtz's team.

  7. i was drunk and an idiot last nite but still pissed about players(freshmen) tweeting after the game about their interception or getting in the game.....some senior on the team should remind them we lost to mcneese st

That's the thing with football players these days. They make one play, you see them get up and start jawing off and celebrating. Good for you, you made a hard tackle at the line of scrimmage, but we're still down 4 touchdowns. Then you see them give up a 12 yard screen play.  You made a good play, now get back to the line and do it again.
