How about the Pac 10 just taking itself out of the championship game?
-
I think Clemson is a top 10 team. Miami? They're more like 15-21 IMO. They have zero quality wins (now that UF sucks) and have nearly lost to two mediocre teams.
Like gausfbull said, the decisiveness of FSU's victories over highly ranked teams matters. But alas, FSU's remaining schedule is garbage (thanks, in part, to UF's implosion) and is going to work against them if Oregon beats Stanford tomorrow and wins out.
FSU's only hope is for Oregon and/or Alabama to lose (or look poorly in their big games) and/or to face and blow out a highly ranked opponent (hopefully Miami, again) in the ACC championship game. The Canes have the inside track to winning their division and playing FSU again but with Duke's injury and the team's inconsistency, they may not.

It's one thing if you've messed up and said something stupid once. And, worse, gotten fired for it. But to do it again?! Sorry, but I have no sympathy for the guy.

I agree that the "White is the Greatest USF QB Ever!" talk is way premature. He played very well in a losing effort, to be sure, but let's see how he finishes the season before we continue with this nonsense.

There is no reason to forgive Brett or his co-conspirators/moles.
I'm sure several in that camp would like to move on considering the mess left behind.
Exactly. Of course Brett's going to be a 'nice guy' and try to befriend players and staff in the program so he can obtain better access to information. The problem is players and staff who did bite often realize it after it's too late. Think of it this way: A reporter may be your 'friend', but always know that his best friend is a good story.
After Leavitt made the foolish mistake to completely shun Brett, Brett made it personal and went out of his way to find dirt. Unfortunately, Leavitt gave him the perfect opportunity in the end.
Nonetheless, great overall post by Sheriff. You're right. The past is the past and we've got a bright future ahead of us.

Yeah, this one was a laugher. FSU looks like they may be playing for all the marbles in January...or at least they'll have as good an argument as Oregon or Ohio St.
I think if all four finish undefeated (unlikely, but possible), Alabama will stay a solid #1 and Ohio State would be a solid #4 based on a weaker schedule than the other four. The question mark will be between Oregon and FSU. Each will have beaten two top 10 teams at that point (Clemson and Miami for FSU; UCLA and Stanford for Oregon). FSU needs to hope Miami wins out and stays in the top 10 so if and when FSU beats them again in the ACC title game, that'll help FSU. Hopefully Oregon loses to Stanford and/or Bama loses to LSU this coming week.

They have a lot of potential but just need to get their consistency down. They looked a lot better against Cincinatti.

All signs point to FSU annihilating Miami...and that is what's worrisome if you're a Noles fan. Every time the Noles look invincible, they drop a bomb.
FSU looks at a different level but you never know
Oh, absolutely. But FSU has a knack for choking to a lesser team and on a big stage.

After flsportsfan83 posted this, the Dolphins have gone 0-4. Thanks for the jinx...

One thing that compounds the problem with the inadequacy of the offensive line is that, oftentimes, Tannehill takes a little too long to get rid of the ball. Even the best offensive lines can only hold for so long. Tannehill's got to get better at scanning the field, picking a target and letting it fly.

Nassau is the better place in Bahamas to go to. Close to Paradise Island and ferry boats to more relaxing spots.
I've been to the Bahamas quite a few times and I agree. Freeport sucks.
Nassau/Paradise Island isn't all that great either in comparison to some of the rest of the Bahamian ports/islands but nonetheless is better for hosting sporting events.

I highly doubt Leavitt would ever return to the athletic building as long as Woolard is there.

Congrats CWT! It won't be easy starting out, but let this win be the first of many.
-
Special teams and defense won this game. Kudos to Kloss!

O-Line isn't getting it done.

Yeah, you can't give Brees & Co. extra opportunities to score.
-
FSU is going to rout Miami.
-
Oh, I wasn't saying he didn't deserve it. He certainly did.
It's just not typically the professional thing for an athletic program to do.

I'm a Dolphins fan too but I do feel bad for the Bucs and their fans...the team just seems snakebit right now.
The Dolphins have done well so far but still have a little ways to go before becoming an elite team. Therefore, I wouldn't go around running other teams down just yet...

It seems to me that there's possibly some behind-the-scenes things going on here that may have affected this (i.e., blow-up of some sort). Otherwise, it's very bad form to fire someone in this manner.

JUCOs are instrumental especially in rebuilding programs.

Wasn't Andre Hall?
Yeah, Garden City CC I believe.

The notion of a Hurricane talking about lack of class and dirty play is pretty amusing.

Well, so much for all that speculation LOL.
FSU and Bama now both control their destinies.
