  1. FSU and the pd probably didn't take her seriously because she changed her story several times. The FSU and Tallahassee PD's do suck, but it still doesn't mean he raped her.

Also, they met at Potbelly's. The only people that go to Pot's are fraternities, sororities, athletes and girls looking to be picked up by said frat boys or athletes. I know that seems like a crass generalization, but it's true. I'd also find it very hard to believe the accuser didn't know who she was leaving the bar with.

Again, I have more issues with Winston's other crimes than I do with this.

  2. I'm 100% certain McMurphy's mole (at least for the USF "problem" articles and Leavitt's demise) was a guy named Daryle Wong. He was a recruiting assistant for the Bulls for several years in the mid-2000s and forged a close relationship with McMurphy. He was also close with many USF players at the time and also many USF athletic personnel who still remain there. Leavitt ended up firing Wong but even so he stayed close with some of the players and was still able to feed damning information to Brett while he was at the Trib and thereafter.

Wong ended up going to UCF (where he was fired) and also Penn State (where he was fired). What goes around, comes around.

  3. I'm pretty sure Winston didn't sexually assault the girl. Obviously I don't know that for certain, but like theman123 said, there's too many holes and inconsistencies in her story(ies).

I'm more concerned with his other issues. I can see him doing these his freshman year and before he was the BMOC, but once you win a national championship AND the Heisman, you're thrust into the national spotlight and much more is expected of you in terms of responsibility.

  4.

Great game, but Michigan fans would disagree with you.

You mean the fans that wanted Hoke over Rich Rod and now want Hoke fired?  Those fans?

I didn't say they were smart.  BTW, Hoke's record doesn't change the fact that Rich Rod failed there.

Rich Rod is a great coach, Michigan just wasn't a good fit.

That's like saying Pete Carroll is a bad coach because of what happend in New York and then Belichick is bad for what happend in Cleveland.

Excellent point. Sometimes coaches get into a situation where it just doesn't work out.

Pete Carroll failed in New England too. Ironically, Belichick was his successor.

  5. I went to USF and FSU and, after the crab legs incident, I stopped defending the guy.

Taking drinks from fast food restaurants is pretty minor and I really don't think he raped the girl. But stealing crab legs and recently doing this idiotic event is getting harder and harder to take. The latest as a stand-alone incident isn't that big of a deal, but in lieu of the spotlight on him from all of the previous stuff, it's just mind-bogglingly stupid.

Another major incident and I think he should be removed from the team, even if it risks a fourth National Championship.

  6.

He made some really nice plays last night. Blew up a couple screens in the backfield and sealed the game with a pick.

I know it's natural instinct for a db to catch that ball but a headier play would have been to drop it before he hit the ground ...

I agree. It was a fourth down play and he caught it way down the field. If he had 'dropped' it, the Bucs would've had the ball deep in Miami territory. I realize there's not much of a difference since there was about 1:30 left and Miami only had one timeout left, but Revis should've been smarter than that.

  7. Southern Miss was easily our biggest rival until leaving C-USA.

Their fans at the games were the absolute worst. Much of the student section was strategically placed right behind the opponent's sideline, and the space between the field and the stands was next-to-nothing. This, of course, created the perfect storm for heckling. I remember being down there and their fans were throwing stuff at us and saying virtually every racist thing they could. I realize some heckling is commonplace, but what they did was way over the line.

And I agree with MikeG...Skip wasn't a bad guy and just not the coach for this program. The difference between the two is Skip didn't intentionally hurt us, whereas Southern Miss did.
