  1. You should change the title of this thread... I thought there was a story about Ford not coming to USF.

I have no problem bringing a STUDENT athlete to USF that needs help in the classroom.  We are, after all, an institution of higher learning.

Seriously. I almost had a heart attack when I seen the title.

  2. McCullum had two unused scholarships entering the year. At the time late in the process when Collin Dennis decided he was leaving, McCullum said he didn't feel it was a wise use of a scholarship to add someone at that point -- remember that it's a four- or five-year commitment to a player who has been largely unclaimed by lots of programs at lower levels than USF. So he puts Capko on scholarship, and he has a scholarship available to give to Holmes, who is more highly touted than anyone McCullum would have gotten in late summer as the last member of this year's class. I suppose a lot of people would say McCullum shouldn't be thinking long-term in his decisions, and depth continues to be a major issue, but this is how McCullum would explain his decisions regarding the roster.

Thanks Greg, for all those haters of CRM, if he indeed is in his last year people will thank him down the road because of his long-term decisions.  It sucks now, but if it's CRM next year or another coach the positive is last year he didn't saddle us with a bunch of chumps that were not BE worthy and his selectiveness left us room to sign Aaron Holmes.  Next year having a nucleus of Holmes, Verdejo, Bozeman, Curry, Howard, Jones, Saaka, Gransberry, and Williams will at least give either CRM or a new coach something to work with including extra scholarships to try and add the quality, and depth needed.

have to definitely agree with you. the new coach will definitely have a lot

    to work with next year

  3. This statistic has no bearing, although 0-2 does.

Did anyone honestly think that we'd be anything other than 0-2 in Big East play to this point? I didn't think we'd play as poorly as we did in the 2 games, but I don't think any rational person thought we'd take one of those games.

With that being said, we have a crucial stretch over the next 7 games, 5 of which are at home. If we can win 4 of those 7 games, then we will be fine. The Big East is down this year, so we can beat some of the lower tier teams. Case in point, the Providence team who looked absolutely god awful down here against FSU is 2-0 in Big East play.

all of our losses are mostly blowouts where we don't even compete.

    it gets old

  4. When the game is on (the players are still playing for USF), the "fans" at the very least could support the team.

Support doesn't mean we can't discuss better alternatives.  There's plenty of people out there that may not support the war or war strategy but still support the troops.

I'll still support USF with my $$.  I'm a fan through and through.  Again, just because we disagree with the BB level of play does not mean we are not fans.

    Bingo

  5. Yes...he did swing by practice, and yes, USF would love to have as many

thoroughbreds in the stable as humanly possible, however... Marve wants

to play, and - shocking as this may be to believe - you'd have to be pretty

phenomenal to knock #8 out of the starting job for the foreseeable future.

I doubt someone with his talent, being recruited the way he is, would

savor riding the pine for that length of time.  It makes for good daydreaming

material, but if we were playing for real money...I'd slide all of my chips over

the "Not USF" side of the table.

True, but you can also look at John Brantley, the #1 and 5 star recruit quarterback who committed to florida, he will be riding the bench til tebow leaves
