  1. 43/44? around that I believe

    I like it... if true.

I'm kinda sure about it. I mean I couldn't find his official date of birth but I looked at the Winthrop website and it said he received his bachelors degree in 1985, which means he should have been around 22, meaning he was born around 1963

haha... yea I did the same and saw 1985, but you never know if he had a late start or if it may have taken him 5 years, etc.

By his picture, it seems like he is young.

very true, he could have had a late start, I don't know why but I can't find his date of birth. I even googled his name and still can't find it

  2. I was just reading Andy Katz's column on ESPN.com. (I don't know how to get the link here). He says Doug Woolard was at Gregg Marshall's house Tuesday night. Gregg Marshall was considering flying to Tampa tonight (Wednesday) for further talks with our AD. According to Andy Katz if Marshall does not get the USF job then Fran Faschilla (ESPN college basketball analyst and former St. John's coach) might be considered for the job here. The article also says USF wanted Anthony Grant but he is staying at VCU. Very interesting stuff!

man thats some good info, hope andy katz isn't lying. hiring marshall would be a great thing for this program

  3. You guys aren't in "SEC COUNTRY" so I wouldn't expect you to believe half of the stuff I'm relaying, but the folks I'm hearing this stuff on are the people who are pulling many of the strings with their wallets and like I said, have been DEAD ON most of the time.  We were way ahead on the Saban story well before the rest of the country was here in my office.  Shoot, Bear Bryant used to fish with the uncle of my hunting buddy so he's tied into Bryant "jr" and one thing about the SEC, is they know what's going on behind the scenes at most of the schools.  Alabama is a funny place I've learned.  It's not like Tampa in any way where the majority of people don't have "roots" going back very far.  Here, these families have known eachother dating back to the 1800s and with that comes a network many wouldn't believe.

I'll take living in tampa over alabama anyday

  4. so did Mac with his 3 years at WMU.

virtually identical results. If Mac had stayed for his 4th year his recruits took the next coach to the tourney. and the year after they went to the NIT. Identical.

You do know that WMU was in the NCAAs 2 years before RMC was hired and they had 7 winning seasons in 9 years...

Whereas USA had been struggling 6 years without making the tourny (where they had been regulars for years under TAMU-CC coach Ronnie Arrow)

This is NOT an upgrade. The guy has been wallowing in the Sunbelt for 5 years now with an overall record of 80-67. 36-48 his first 3 years.

I mean, he's only gotten Southern Alabama to a decent level. I admit his record isn't great, but your talking about a guy that has been considered "the next Billy Donovan" since late 90s/early 2000s. He's won 20 games at a program like USA the last 2 years. It's not even a "mid major" WMU is at least in a "mid major" conference.

We need to make the push for Grant now or this is all for not.

I agree! However, Grant's price is going to be at least 750k; plus several upgrades. There are several jobs out there that are going to be making a run. I just don't think he's a realistic candidate, especially when a coach from EKU is turning the job down.

    SOUTH alabama
