  1. The USF Ice Bulls will be selling discounted hockey passes good for the championship and 3rd place games on Oct. 28th for $25 each. NCAA D1 teams Alabama-Huntsville, Notre Dame, Army and Airforce will playing...

Come before the 3rd place game and watch your USF hockey team play an ACHA game against a Florida college (team TBA shortly) You can enter the USF game free, no NCAA ticket purchase needed.

    Email USFiceBulls@aol.com for more details.

  2. that sucks about not having uniforms, I can feel from the club sport stand point as we have old uniforms and bigger schools (UCF, UGA, Tenn., etc) refer to them as our Walmart jerseys. The school cut back on funding for club sports because of cuts all around I was told.

Does anyone have contact information on the HOT, Id like to get some of them out to a club sporting eventing. ERAU brings there band EVERY where with them... I think it would be fun to get part of the HOT out to one event.

  3. What are the World University Games?

These hockey games are held every two years and take the top players from all the universities in the country and they play against other countries. 80 players and 8 goalies fight for the chance to make TEAM USA and head over to Italy to represent USA in the fight for gold. They take 20 players and 3 goal tenders to the W.U.G.

As of right now 3 USF players are in the running to attend camp and have the chance to make TEAM USA. They have spent the last several months, and months to come training hours a day on dry land and on the ice to be able to represent USF on the national and then hopefully the world level. We have 2 players and a goalie in the contending of this honor. Our goalie has been ranked in the top 10 Nationally in D3 for the past 4 years; the players are both transfers from other programs- who have an advance skill level.

The Ice Bulls are trying to raise enough money to cover their try-out expenses, as USF has not been able to help with funding them even though they will be representing USF at the national level and then hopefully in the World Games.

The cost will be $525 plus airfare for the 3 to attend the invite only camp and if picked the ACHA and NCAA will cover international costs. All donations are tax deductible, and will be counted as sponsorship to the team. (Meaning team sponsor benefits will apply to you)

Please contact USFiceBulls@aol.com if you would like more details or are interested (or know someone/business) who would be in helping USF get on the map during these boy’s journeys to the World University Games in Italy.

  4. The USF Ice Bulls are traveling back up to Tenn, then to GA this weekend to play MTSU and Georgia Tech.

The Ice Bulls are currently 4-6, this record might not look good, but we are ranked about 7th in our region out of 20. All the teams we have lost to are ranked in the top 10 in the country.

We are currenly looking for sponsors which can be used as TAX WRITE OFFS, its that time of year so why not donate to a USF athletic not funded by athletics. Travel is going to cost 25,000 this year (bus and hotels) and the school only alloted 1,000 for travel so everything comes from donations and out of pocket.

If interested please email: USFiceBulls@aol.com; any questions can be answered there as well.

Any and all donations will be accepted and here is what you will receive for doing so:

    White $100 Charter Member:

    Game Program Recognition

    Green $500 (Same As Above)

Wall Plaque, Team Jersey, 2 Home Game Passes

    Gold $1,000 (Same As Above)

  5. The officer has been identified as UCF Police Officer Mario Jenkins, a K-9 unit. Jenkins was working undercover with ATF checking for underage drinkers when he was involved in an altercation. He pulled out a non-lethal pellet gun (rubber bullets) and shot the individual. Seeing the weapon, OPD stepped in and shot first, asked questions later. Only after shooting did the OPD officer realize he had just shot and killed an undercover cop. The OPD officer, who has not been identified, is currently on paid administrative leave.

  6. Last year it cost 2000+ out of pocket a player between dues and traveling expenses. These players have to take 9 credits (most take 12 or more), a lot of them work close to 40 hours a week, have 6am practices and then still try to juggle friends, girlfriends and social lives.

And they aren't whiney. Support USF! Support The Ice Bulls!

If anyone is interested in making a donation or would like to be a sponsor, any and all donations are tax deductible. Wouldn’t you rather your money go to hockey rather than the government? Support Hockey. USFiceBulls@AOL.com

  8. Last season we measured the sun dome to put in ice, so the Ice Bulls could have ice on campus. There was a possible sponsor who was willing to put in ice, it turns out it was a few feet short, and the way the Sun Dome is set up would not allow us to remove rows.

As awesome as it would be for the Ice Bulls to become NCAA, the closet school is Huntsville and other teams would need to make the jump also. Title Nine also holds us back.

www.Icebulls.org for the Ice Bull site, and if you want to sponsor or donate so that the team can purchase one of three items much needed (all tax deductable with great gifts for donating (jerseys and such)) then email USFICEBULLS@AOL.com

  9. It was posted on the ice bull message board.

Its not a problem, but when someone asks a question and wants an answer but remains anyonmous how am I suppose to answer it. It is just frustrating because we work hard to get support, and when someone takes a shot at the organization it makes me angry, esp. when I can try to answer the question.

I'll just post my response here so when whoever lurks on they can read the answer:

    "Every club level team

is "hurting" for money and sponsors, as a home

game it costs the team over $1000 and we get

little money from the school because it is a

    club and not varsity.

As far as I am concerned the team respects

itself, they are going through a tough time

right now. We have lost several players through

injuries and school commitments. Other teams

have used this to their advantage. "Team

Chemistry" these boys are together on and off

the ice, they have it together, have you seen

some of there other games such as the 11/13 FGCU

game, or how about Nationally known Georgia Tech

when we went up there. They played 110% and it

showed, just because you come to one or two

games, you can't judge, come out to more and see

for yourself. I'll even throw you in some free

tickets if you contact me via e-mail (USFiceBulls@aol.com)

I take offense to your "hurting for money"

comment because I work hard to make sure they

boys are going to have everything they need next

season: new bags, warm ups etc, and it's a

positive to advertise on message boards because

believe it or not I get a lot of responses with

eager people wanting to help out this

    organization."

  10. I've been told this message came from someone on this message board, if you wrote this atleast act your age and comment back, don't leave things as "M" especially if I can answer things, how can I contact you back.

    "Name: M E-mail:

    City:  Country:

    Homepage:  Date: 31-Jan-2005 10:17:25

    Message:

The IceBulls have a serious coaching problem.

Does this team even know what "team chemistry"

means?  I've read posts on various message

boards and it appears the team is hurting for

sponsors and money.  Why would anyone want to

back a team that doesn't respect itself as a

    team?"

  11. I didnt even see this post.

We had 9 players including 2 goalies show up. There was a miscommunication with game and time, and our head coach didnt even make it. The shots were a lot higher on FGCU's end it was 60 something...

Last time we played them it was 68 shots to 20 something, and we won 4-3... our goalie steps up for these games, its hard not having your first 2 lines and having to play 3rd line people against FGCUs first line... one of our defenders stayed out on the ice most of the game.

Granted we did have some NHLers with one of the Ice Bulls before hand (cullamore, dingman, dave, pratt etc) but they didnt play for FGCU.

We did beat FSU both Friday and tonight!

  12. fidbuc - as of now we are playing on Friday 2/18, we are no longer playing Clemson on the 19th, so we are looking to pick up UGA (for a 2nd game), Kennesaw or GTech.

**our sch. has kennesaw listed for the 19th, but I talked with their Ice hockey president and they are having money issues, so if it is not worked out we will play GT or UGA**

GotIce? -I have the player stats and stuff, I just have to put something together, as soon as I get them together and everything I'll get them on the USF site. As for tshirts the USF book store has them BUT no money of the sale of them goes to the team. I have several shirts I had designed that I can bring to the game, and you can pick one of those and I can have it made... this is cheaper than the $19 shirt at the book store also and looks a lot better, let me know.

USF beat UF 14-1 when we played them Oct 8th. The gators have improved, but not greatly. We are also missing several players. Tonight was a huge upset against #1 FGCU as we had only 9 players come out after a "miscommunication"... needless to say I can asure you a better game.

  13. The home ones are awesome, they are the Dallas Stars jersey. Unfortunatley they couldnt afford to get the matching away, its a solid black away one (looks like a practice jersey) plus rumor has it that USF is going to cut ice hockey funding making it even more expensive for the boys to play (they already pay for than any other team in the league)

If anyone knows anyone who wants a tax write off, I can sign any donation and fill out a tax exemption. Better to give to a college sport than the government.

  14. Hey Ice Bull Fans-

www.icebulls.org is up and looking better than ever.

This Saturday USF takes on FAU at 8:30 at the Brandon Ice Sports. It is Nick Sullivan (goalie) appreciation day, unfortunetatly his bobble heads didnt come in... but he'll autograph your ticket which has his picture on it.

Come help cheer them on, as they fight on the road to nationals!
