USF was 6th in our region (out of 34 teams) (AL, FL, GA, SC, NC, DC, MD, VA, TN) after the 1st rankings and new ranking are due out tomorrow.

This Saturday @ 9:30pm at the Brandon Ice Sports Forum is the 1st Annual Green and Gold hockey game. It is $3 donation for anyone without an USF ID. The team will also be raffling off autographed Lightning sticks and selling USF hockey t-shirts ($15 sizes S-XL) to fundraise towards Regionals later on in the season.

The Ice Bulls are currently 7-2; they will travel to UF on Friday, and play a tournament hosted by Georgia Tech with Clemson, MTSU and play currently #1 ranked team KSU; in their next series of games after the holiday.

The last home game of the semester is against our I-4 rivals the UCF Knights December 9th @ 9:30pm.

Hockey is an expensive sports, for us to play at the club level in the ACHA including travel (just hotel and bus-- no flights) it comes out to about 85K this year, just to give you an idea.

NCAA team would kill us, but we've knocked out D2 and D1 teams in tournaments in the past. We do have a some NCAA players and D1&2 ACHA players on our team. We also have a nationally ranked goaltender that kept the team hanging last year when we had a "rebuilding" year. He had a chance to goto the University World games in Europe for Team USA featuring mostly ACHA D1 players but declined because he would miss 6 season games which could make the difference between going to nationals and staying home.

the SPTF is going to host an annual tournament leading up to the 2012 Frozen Four to develop college hockey in the area.

I have tickets for the NCAA D1 hockey tournament at the SPTF for $10 each. Notre Dame, Alabama- Huntsville, Air Force and Army will be playing.

NCAA discounted tickets for the game Oct. 28th will be sold before game, as well as $10 tickets to a Lightning game in Nov.

how do they feel about fans rushing the ice and tearing down the goals?

I believe we pay enough for ice that you can rush the ice We also do not taser our fans We encourage cheering, noise makers and signs.

There is also a bar with drink specials for those 21+, alcohol is permitted within the rink.

(we have HCSO and security on hand at our events)

The rink forced us back a hour, so it is late for children. We do have a large family fan base, and the boys always high five the kids when they line the entrance way when they are coming off the ice.

The game on Oct 28th is a day game- 1pm against Florida Tech. That game will be FREE for everyone.

All games are played in Brandon at the Ice Sports Forum at 9:30pm unless noted.

USF is playing UF in hockey this weekend. Come watch the Gators take a butt kicking from your very own USF Bulls @ 9:30pm in Brandon.

The game the 28th USF is selling lower level passes for $25 good for the USF v FIT game, 3rd place and Championship NCAA games (Notre Dame, Air Force, Alabama-Huntsville, Army) After ticketmaster charges you are saving over $10 a ticket.

Sadly, we lost to the Georgia Tech Nerds 6-5 with 1:30 to go. I have never seen such awful fans and players, USF recieved a lot of compliments from USF staff and SPTF members because of their tasteful behavior.

The USF Ice Hockey team has 6 lower level tickets to sell for the NHL game tomorrow (Sat. Oct 14th) Lightning v. Panthers. USF will be hosting Georgia Tech following the game.

The tickets are retailed at 100.75 each, we are looking for $75 OBO (the team had to sell $7500 worth, and we are short right now.)
