  1. USF spilt the two games with Alabama this weekend.

No excuses for the loss, they out played us on top of the suspension and players that did not travel. We were flat.

The game on Saturday was a lot better.

Riding on a 30 passanger bus for 24 hours in a 3 day period, crammed together, is not fun.

The next game is this Saturday AFTER the NHL game at the St. Pete Times Forum, you can enter through GATE A at 10:15pm for free to see USF (4-1)  take on Georgia Tech (5-0). Should be a great game.

  2. the colors do match, its a poor quality picture. Both greens are the same forrest green colors, and the gold is called vegas gold which is the same color as the USF "U" the matting is shiny, which makes it look lighter when the light hits it.

If you would like to come up with the other 10,000 to custom color the jerseys to the same matting, to avoid the shine- the team would gladly take your donation.

  3. We will also be playing after the Lightning game on Oct. 14th (free of charge) and before the 3rd place game of the NCAA D1 tournament at 1pm (free of charge) ((All @ the St. Pete Times Forum))

USF is selling discounted NCAA tickets good for the 3rd place and championship NCAA games on Oct. 28th. It is free to attend the USF game. Alabama-Huntsville, Notre Dame, Air Force and Army will be playing.

USF is an ACHA DIII club program. Some teams use their ACHA programs as JV programs to their varsity. We have some boys who transfered after playing NCAA D2 and 3 teams, ACHA D1, 2 and 3. Our backup goalie came from ACHA D1 National champions Rhode Island this year. Our starting goalie played goalie for the Lightning during the lock out. So the team has a lot of talent.

The team also raises $75,000 on their own to cover what SG does not cover. That is some dedication right there.

The team is currently 3-0-0 right now and we will be leaving tomorrow (Thursday) and bus-ing it to Alabama for two games.

  4. USF beat ERAU tonight in front of the smallest turnout in awhile (disappointing) of 250 fans. They are now 3-0 in the ACHA.

below is a media release, to be printed in Trib and Times :)

University of South Florida Ice Bulls Shuts Out Embry Riddle

Tampa, Florida (September 30, 2006) –Goalie Nick Sullivan stopped all 28 shots he faced, as the University of South Florida Ice Bulls shut out the Embry Riddle Eagles 4-0 at the Ice Sports Forum on Saturday night. The Ice Bulls completed a two game sweep of the Eagles and improved their record to 3-0 with the win.

USF was lead in scoring by Conner Lyons with two goals and an assist. Eric Halverson also had a three point game, chipping in a goal and two assists. Michael Colletti scored the fourth Ice Bull goal.

The Bulls had to kill off a five on three power play late in the game to preserve the shutout for Sullivan, who was named the Checkers Player of the game.

USF will travel to Tuscaloosa to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide in a two game set next weekend.

  5. I hate to say it, but there were a good number of empty seats in my section (203). My row was about half full, the row in front and behind was about 2/3 full. It might have looked full becuase everyone was spread out; a couple here and there to fill in the gaps. I even overheard some people say that thier friends, who got the $5 from the greeks, didn't come because they decided not to at the last minute.

Through the whole thing there were positives and negatives. As long as the problems are fixed for next time.

I was in 203 as well, but I know a lot of greeks who rode a bus with me moved up closer since there were empty seats. People also went to brave the UCF section and sit with friends. There is a really good pic today in the Trib picturing about 6 greeks I know all painted up with signs in the front row-- they were sitting with me in 203 row V and moved up...  I did see alot of greeks wearing letters though.

  6. USF ice hockey has their season opener (for those of you not traveling with football) Saturday @ 9:30pm at the Brandon Ice Sports Forum. This is one of 15 games (2 being held at the St. Pete Times Forum)- so come join the 500+ fans to cheer USF on to victory.

There is a bar at the rink as well!

  7. I saw that he gave his name to the Oracle.  I didn't see any other info posted about him.

People took it upon themselves to post his phone # on facebook, attack him on his myspace and drive my his residence. He's turned all his things to "friends only," but that hasn't stopped "the hate".

I hope people use all this energy cheering on USF Saturday.

  8. I know the subject for the UCF-USF tickets has been over done....

but anyone who is involved in threatening, stalking, calling etc the boy who got organized and bought the 300 tickets (who he has already dispursed to all organizations) don't do it.

This isn't elementary school- I think its sad people have posted his address and phone number in places, he's gotten threats from facebook and myspace... people have driven by his house yelling. Its PATHETIC! I don't know the kid- but please be nice to others- he's supporting the football team, don't go telling him "you hope his mom dies" and "you're going to slash his tires"

  9. anyone could of gone around their dorms, to their friends or clubs and took the "bulls by the horn" and gotten their groups U#'s and names and gotten their own set of 10, 50, 300 tickets. The greeks got organized; people seem to like to blame them for everything. Not showing up to games or showing up. A lot of greeks attend home games, I tailgate with a lot of the greeks and they make things fun and really support the University.

I think it's going to be a great game with all these students in attendance. If you have a group of 20 people you can go through UCF and get $12 endzone tickets- which is always an option.

  10. "Where were you? What were you doing?  How did you react?"

St. Leo- freshmen dorms watching Saved by the Bell with about 8 other people in the commons. We watched in shock as the 2nd plane hit, thinking it was another replay. My best friend tried calling his mom for hours (she worked a black of the WTC) so I pretty much comforted him and some other NY-ers until they could reach their parents. One did not- her dad died in the WTC. I can't watch it on TV I get all chocked up, especially after talking to my bestfriend this morning while he was on his commute to work in the city-- he said everyone is just quiet, not the usual small chat.

  11. Kegs and glass bottles are not allowed, just fyi. and for god's sake, please refrain from the "bullet proof" comments.   I lost my friend last year and don't think that is too funny... Thanks in advance.

Can you link me to wear it says we can't have kegs? I was under the impression as long as everyone was 21 and had IDs we were good to go.

Sorry, I don't have a link, but believe me.. No kegs, glass bottles, funnels, drinking games like toss boards etc.. There were 40+ arrests last game also for underage drinking just fyi.

I was just wondering I didnt see anything on the Citrus Bowl Stadium page or UCF athletic page about it-- I guess we'll have a lot of cans.

  12. I don't know about anyone else, but the USF ice hockey team will be present (33 people) wearing GREEN USF hockey shirts to help support the football team. Come look for our bus and join our tailgate!!!!

Where will you all be tailgating? The hockey team would be the perfect ones to hang out with going over there to this game. Only ones better would be a USF SWAT team ...

We will be at the parking area at the UCF field at 11:45am- we will be armed with kegs, coolers, and a grill. Our bus will have a USF Ice Hockey banner on it (most likely) just look for a bunch of people in USF attire partying harder than anyone else :)
