  1. A good friend of mine is holding a charity BBQ this Saturday for Operation Helping Hand.   OHH helps wounded servicemen/veterans and their families.  It is from 11 am to 3 pm, next to Hanks BBQ on Dale Mabry (see flyer for more details).  If you're in the mood for some good BBQ, please come by and get satiated while you support a great charity.  I'll be helping out, please say hi to me if you come by (ask for Chris, I'll be wearing a USF hat).

For more info on the charity, please go to: operationhelpinghandtampa.com

This message is Brad approved (I got his blessing before posting).

    Thanks!!

Ahhhh, the annual offseason optimism. We all have it to some degree. There's nothing really tangible to create it, but hope does spring eternal. I bet we'll have some when we hire a basketball coach, too.

USF is like daylight savings versus daylight standard times.  We "Spring" forward with optimism in the off season and then we "Fall Back" for standard time when reality hits during the season.

I appreciate a player for the time their contributions and keep it moving. I don't have time to be all bitter and angry when a player leaves. I definitely don't have time to crap on a player's on field achievements b/c he left the team either. Many fans  done quit on this team and always have something negative to say about USF. Yet you get mad when a player wants to move on? Too many of you guys need to get out of your feelings period. When a player leaves us, I get excited b/c a better player may or will come along. The portal taketh and the portal giveth. This is entertainment to me...nothing else. If I want to be a poo-butt, miserable and complain all day then I won't even bother coming to this blog. I have plenty of  **** happening in real life to be "feeling some type of way" about and even then I don't bother complaining. It takes way too much energy to be so **** negative.

Just because a player quits, and I call him a quitter doesn't mean I'm angry.  Sometimes a cigar is a cigar.

Because there is likely more to it, and humans are complex beings.  Deciding from afar that a person you have never once spoken to is a quitter is going to often be an incorrect conclusion, unless the player takes of his jersey and walks off the field in the middle of a game.

He didn't play the last two games.  That's a quitter in my book (unless he was injured or he broke some team rule).
