I'll think we'll be close, but not quite top 25. We haven't beaten good enough teams to push us into the rankings, but when we upset the noles next week we will ranked.

Yet, they have UF at #23 after wins over UMASS(=Towson) and UK (< NIU).

As my son gets older(12), it gets harder and harder to explain how politics work......sigh.

    GO BULLS!!!!

  2. As I understand it, for each bowl ticket purchased through USF, you will receive one commemorative bowl ticket.  In the past, we've had to pay for these. Not sure if it will be signed, but I'd have to think so as all the others were (even the 2010 International Bowl...which was signed by LeRoy (awkward, but nice to have his signature)).  I'm just hoping they arrive in Lucite cases to match the first six.

  3. Anyone else read the email from USF regarding Super Bull Suzanne Ward?

If I read it correctly, it states she's never missed a home game, been to all six bowl games, and caught the team on the occasional away game.  It then says she's seen the Bulls live 80 times.

I, too have been to all the bowl games.  I've never flown from Singapore, or wherever she has for a home game (nicely done, Suzanne)....but I have missed 5 home games over the years (won't bore you with the details of each....but I could)

    I'm pretty sure 17 X 5,(or 6 or 7) > 80.  Right?

I mean, if we played only 5 home games a season, that would be more than 80.

How many home games have we played?

  4. I think this just makes it clear that I need a shirt for next week's festivities....but I need some help with the numbers.

I'm picturing something like...."Top Ten Reasons I'm Tired of 'The Era'".

Help? Here are 10 loose ideas (and I don't even have the correct numbers) but you get the idea.

    Give me some ideas/stats.

    10. 5 losses in a row for first time ever

    9. lost 12 out of last 15 (or whatever it is)

    8. big east record = 1-

    7. winning percentage without holtz = x, winning percentage with holtz = y

    6. x > y

    5. 0 bowl appearances

    4. 0 conference championships

    3. can't win on the road

    2. can't win at home

    1. Apparently the apple falls VERY far from the tree (like in the neigboring orchid).

  5. ....you know there's a problem.

Seriously, I can say this loss doesn't really hurt that bad. It's sad, but I guess the numbness has set in. I realized after losing to Temple that my expectations for my Bulls were simply too high and unrealistic. I had grown used to expecting (and subsequently being disappointed (in all fairness)) my Bulls to be more than competitive...but under this regime, "competitiveness" is really all I can hope for, because Skip is obviously and openly pleased as long as our team is competitive. I don't want to be just competitive any longer. Seriously, I think I'd rather get blown out that get out-coached one more time.

I'm not giving up on my Bulls or my season tickets, etc, but another big piece of my Bulls pride is gone.

I need to dial the whole pride thing back about 1,000 notches.

I'll just be proud of my Alma Mater and of our little competitive football team....but truthfully, it's embarrassing....the tags on my trucks, the flag outside of my house...really?

    Ugh

  6. I was talking with a buddy last night and I mentioned how cool it is that we're so young.  That we're able to  make statements like, "I was at the inaugural game", "I was there for the first bowl game", "the first bowl victory", "I've been to every bowl game".....etc etc.  Things that the vast majority of college football fans can NOT say.  While the history and tradition of the older schools/programs is VERY cool, we are able to help create that for our school/team, not just jump on.
