If you attended the game between WVU and USF in 2007 you will remember how the stadium was shaking when Ben Moffitt took this INT for a TB. It was an awesome feeling and an awesome game.

Probably took quite a bit for Ryan Bass to say this on the air:

Assuming Fox has their stuff together they should look at this as an opportunity to get some good talent. Relatively speaking Fox is the next best equipped to compete with ESPN. For some reason they have not been able to put it together.

He may not be a good fit. Not sure how much OCSG plans to run the QB.
Sean Allison told the Miami Herald late Tuesday morning, about two hours after the younger Allison met with UM coach Mark Richt to tell him his decision, that his son “is a pocket passer, just like Mark said,’’ but that he believes the Hurricanes are heading to a more dual-threat, running-type quarterback system.

The good thing about this schedule is there are no road games in the northeast during late fall early winter.

This article claims he was the co defensive coordinator at WVU. If it comes down to recruiting then I am okay taking him over Kevin Patrick.

The head coach NC State Doeren was on the hot seat in 2016 and will probably be on the hot seat in 2017. Patrick would have been a good fit for USF but he probably did not want to come back for the third time.

Although the stats don't tell the full story, there does not seem to be a major difference in rushing/passing mix between USF and Texas in 2016. USF's offense was more explosive but that could be a reflection of the difference in competition. USF could afford to pass the ball more especially throwing the ball down the field. Element of the Gulf Coast were derived from Briles Baylor offense so I do not expect a huge shift from the fundamentals. I do believe some of the West Coast elements that supported the run may disappear. Either way I believe this style of offense will play well for Flowers and Kean.
Rushing
- USF 570 for 3,709 6.5/rush 92 tds
- Texas 597 for 2,871 5.5/rush 74 tds
Passing
- USF 358 for 2,941 8.22/pass 26 tds
- Texas 402 for 3,024 7.52/pass 21 tds

Such a flurry of hires. Was the DL coach hired?
-
Charlie Strong was the DC at UF in 2008. I think he has a solid grasp of the spread

Quite a history between Grant and USF......
Interviewed for the head coach position in 2003

Was mentioned as a candidate again 2015

The level of AAC basketball coaches as stepped up a bit. Considering the quality of the coaches in conference I lean towards Anthony Grant. Richard Pitino won most of his goes out of conference.

Would you be willing to retain Woodie as the LBs Coach?

Strong will need to lock down the staff really soon considering national signing day is 2/1/2017.

Not a bad idea but I think Tyrone Nix would be cheaper.

I can not wait for the Spring Game. Something tells me it will be packed this year.

Nicholas and Jancek may stay

I think the majority of the defensive staff is gone. Janeck and Nicholas may stay. Reaves goes to Oregon. King, Weist and Hiller stay.
-
I was a great run this year for the football team. 11 wins and will more than likely be ranked ending this year and starting new year. Now it is time to face the music, "Who stays and who goes?".
I think it is fair to assume that Woodie is gone. No disrespect but the defense was less than good this year.
-
These guys from Texas seem plausible as well:
- Matt Mattox (http://texassports.com/staff.aspx?staff=299)
- Brian Jean-Mary: http://texassports.com/staff.aspx?staff=163
- Brick Haley: http://www.texassports.com/coaches.aspx?rc=983&path=football
- Sterlin Gilbert: http://texassports.com/staff.aspx?staff=298
-
I can see Stong retaining the following people.
- Darren Hiller
- Shaun King
- TJ Weist
- David Reaves
This is the other side of coaching changes where people's lives and families are impacted.

There will be a step forward next season. But it will be a combination of Strong's leadership, the remnants of Taggart and a weak schedule. Strong will bring a new approach to the defense which USF needs. Unlike Texas he does not need to clean up the program and reset a mentally. He will be able to step in and start coaching because Taggart set the table over the last four years.
Willing the bowl game will be key but next years schedule is favorable. Out of conference games @San Jose St (4-8), Umass (2-10), Stony Brook (5-6), Illinois (3-9). Conference Home Games Tulsa, Cincinnati, Temple, Houston. Conference Away games, UCF, ECU, Uconn and Tulane.
If the offense sustains its pace and the defense improves it is possible that USF goes through next season ranked all year long.
You get to pick one
