  1. Just curious. Those of you asking for better marketing from USF, what do you suggest? My take on this; no amount of advertising is going to make me a USF sports fan if I'm a fan of Miami, FSU, UF, Notre Dame, etc.

The attendance at the WVU game, lo those many years ago, proves that people will come out to an "event". But that doesn't make them "fans". Was the advertising better for that game? Probably not.

Not to beat a dead horse, but marketing could have avoided this whole fiasco by simply giving season ticket holders "First right of refusal" to buy lower level seat BEFORE offering them for purchase thru the "Block purchase" option. Loyalty to those who pay a little more, should always be the way to go.

I think it's fair to say that if marketing called ANY of us on this board and said "hey, just wanted to see if you wanted 2 extra lower level tickets for the FSU game before we released them for sale, most of us would have jumped on it..."

little things go a long way... maybe some people would have sold them, some of us NEED them, and some would have simply given them to others to try and bring them to a big, fun college football game for the first time... whatever would have happened, it would have been the season ticket holders who would have controlled most of the tickets for this game! lesson learned... hopefully they read this and try something like this for the next big one!

    Go Bulls!

  2. Noted our WR talent, claiming "multiple guys could start".

A continuing battle for the number 2 QB poisition, and he says it's the biggest battle on offense. Again discussed the battle for the number 2 CB.

Noted that Ciabatti was the current number 1 punter.

Just said that he is waiting for two waivers, AARON LYNCH, and JOHNNY SITTON.

Lynch Mob shirts just waiting to be made for this year!

  3. Question is WHO would we like to play to add to our OOC, to give us some marque games to look forward to? I say (in no particular order) my top 10 dream teams would be

    Georgia

    USC

    LSU

    Michigan

    Oregon

    Ok St

    Oklahoma

    Alabama

    Texas

    ND

Any of these games would be a blast either neutral site OR road game...

FSU fans CAN buy group tickets outside of the schools allotment. Some may say well it's just a blog, I know the author and he is no BS'er.

    Single Game Tickets Through FSU

A ticket office representative told us that they "had to close the request list about a month ago." As of now, the office is "waiting to see" how many tickets FSU will get from South Florida. When they know -- a number which they don't plan to reveal right away -- the ticket office will determine "probably in the next two to three weeks, how many tickets each donor will get based on their donation level." After that, they'll "let those donors know by email how many tickets they'll be able to buy -- a lot like how the Florida tickets are done." In other words, "priority points and booster level will be taken into account."

Of course, FSU's ticket office knows that demand will far exceed supply and plans to be both diplomatic and opaque in deciding who gets what. Complicating the situation is unrealistic requests for large numbers of tickets, in some cases as many as 50. If you requested more than two to four tickets, just be happy to get your hands on those.

    Group Tickets Through USF

Next we spoke to South Florida ticket office. They fully understand that FSU is the marquee game on their home schedule and thus the year's big revenue generator. They suggest the best way for Nole fans to buy tickets is with a group package. Right now, groups of 20 or more can get tickets at $50 each -- though you also have to buy an equal number of tickets to another USF game, though that price will be as low as $21. So for $71 apiece, you and 19 or more of your friends can be assured of a seat at the "Ray Jay" on Sept. 29. USF says the group packages are selling well, and those who only plan to attend the FSU game are donating that extra game ticket back to the school, giving to friends or trying to sell it on-line.

    Single Game Tickets Through USF

South Florida says it will put individual game tickets on sale at the end of this month or in early August. However, their ticket spokesman warned that only a limited number will be available for the Noles and Bulls, and those will go for $75 each. Not only will the single game tickets be more than the group rate, they'll be in the nosebleed 300 Level of the stadium.

Hopefully the word gets out and USF fans start to take advantage of this opportunity to buy NOW, and not let FSU fans buy them all up... (I do know that some of the groups got tickets in the 200's, which SUCKS!!)

  6. I was hoping they'd be up with FSU. Instead the athletic offices have allowed FSU fans to buy hundreds of tickets in groups.

    Sucks.

I don't understand that at all.

    FB_Helmet_normal.jpg USF Football â€@USFFootball8 Jun

In meeting on 2012 ticketing, sounds like the only way to get a lower bowl seat for FSU on Sept. 29 will be with a season ticket.

The "buy hundreds of tickets in groups" was probably just the typical visting team allotment. THey get the one section in the lower bowl and then how ever many else they need in the 300s behind them.

FSU fans certainly did not have the opportunity to buy "hundreds" or tickets for the game. Unless of course they dished out the money for season tickets, because $100-200 season tickets in lower bowl is still not too bad to go to a typical FSU game.

My understanding was they got 5000 tickets alloted, plus ANYBODY could buy tickets in-groups of 20 or more for the FSU game for 80 dollars which includes another game of there choice... needless to say, people have been buying huge groups of tickets, and very few lower bowl seats remain (being held for season tickets) what's upsetting is they didn't really advertise this to the general public, making the casual fans unaware of this option... needles to say expect a ton of FSU fans, and some upset USF fans waiting for single game tickets only to find out upper level is pretty much it... (lots of upper level have been sold as well)

Hopefully USF ticket office will clarify shortly.

  7. Right about now we usually hear an update as to where we are with numbers... anybody know if we are at least on pace with last year?

On a side note, people are really struggling to get seats for the FSU game that aren't nose bleeds, which I would think means sales are on the up swing...

    Go Bulls!!

  8. For those who think Vernon has been disloyal to USF, ask yourself this

question. What if he was a borderline 2-star recruit with no BCS offers. Would

you have demanded that USF extend a scholarship offer out of loyalty?

    I'm not upset with VH3.

I'm upset with his father. If he doesn't believe USF is a school worth his own sons talent. How is he ever supposed to recruit 4 and 5 star players?

    good point!
