  1. Paul Rogers, formerly of Bad Company, is the new front man for Queen.
  2. I read there is little chance he qualifies. He is most likely a sign and place, similar to Kearse last year. Hope that Grant proves them wrong. If he does somehow qualify, he can really help out or return game.
  3. USF_Girl, I am trying to put together an Atlanta Chapter Alumni function to watch our IceBulls play UGA at the Breakaway Grill in the Ice Forum. I understand the Breakaway Grill overlooks the ice there. Here is where I need your help. The UGA site says we are playing the game Saturday, 2/19 The IceBulls site has the game being played on Friday, 2/18. Please let me know what date the game will actually be played. So I can start putting the function together. Thanks.
  4. I believe that it's against NCAA regulations for a coach to comment or give any info about a recruit until that recruits signs a LOI.
  5. The AJC did not list USF as a potential suitoras well, when they initially wrote the story on the Carter transfer. I thought at the time of that story, we might be a potential school to where he may transfer due to location (he's from Lakewood) and need. However, this was the same time as the Midgett transfer and we were not offering Midgett, so it lead me to believe we were shying away from QB transfers. I believe Carter is far more athletic than Midgett, so that may be the reason for his consideration.
  6. The quotes attributed to Dawsey in the 12/1 article SP Times by Greg A, does not appear that LD is going anywhere. See attached: I've got a great group of young kids to work with," he said. "They've got a lot of potential and I'm looking forward to working with them again." The Florida State alum has heard his name as a popular choice to join Bobby Bowden's staff in Tallahassee, but he wants to put that rumor to rest. "There's nothing to that," he said. "Fans are disappointed in how things are going on the offense up there. I've been here in Tampa ever since I got drafted by the Bucs. This is home."
  7. I believe Baker was Cornelius Ingram's main target at Hawthorne. If it is the same kid, seeing that he is at Santa Fe he probably is, then I believe we offered him last year as well.
  8. USF Girl, I as at the game Saturday night in Marietta vs GA Tech. They played well and were entertaining. I will make a point to attend the UGA game back up here in Atlanta in February. Thanks for the info.
  9. Atlanta Alumni Chapter will be meeting at Chammps in Alpharetta for the game. Just east of 400, off exit 8.
  10. Where in Atlanta are those two games to be played?
  11. Wanted to check in to see where the fellow Bull Nation will be tailgating? Our group is coming in from Atlanta and would love to see others in the Green and Gold.
  12. It may because I am slanted toward the business perspective, but Hollis has my vote as of now. I don't know what the committee is hearing, but his responses that have hit the media are head and shoulders above the previous candidates, IMHO. As far as question of leadership, I think that the opportunity will breed a leader.
  13. Last I heard Kenyatta was in Washington. Don't know, with the change of coaches there, if he has since stuck around.
  14. Height is not a major concern for me. The best defender/rebounder at the PF position that I can remember at the collegiate level was Jerome Lane at Pitt in the mid 80's. He was listed at 6-6, but was 6-5 at the very best. Our own Hakim Shaihid did a **** good job manning the 5 slot for us, granted it was against Sunbelt competition, but he was listed at 6-7 and must have been standing on a phone book when they measured him. If Mobley can use his muscle to push his man away from the basket, it will negate any height disadvantage he would perceive to have. There are not to many 6-10 guys in the NCAA that can hit a 15 footer with any consistency, most of those guys are now going straight to the NBA.
  15. You can field a pretty good team with some of Seth's near misses: Center Casey Sanders (Duke) Nick Smith (IL) Power Forward Kenny Walker (AL) Ed Nelson (Ga Tech/ UConn) Amare Stoudamire (NBA ROY) Small Forward/ 2 Guard Gee Gervin (UH) Desmond Allison (UK) Schea Cotton (AL) Point Guard Keyon Dooling (Mizz/NBA) Jamie Brewer (AU/NBA) Oh, what might have been.
