Hypothetically speaking, if New College was still part of USF, would that qualify us as AAU and would it have helped us to get an invite to B1G?

That wouldn't be hard... odds are you'd be married to her and share the same trailer/shack.  Odds are you'd be asking her if she was using the false teeth this weekend because you and uncle bo (who is also your father in law) are going hunting for squirrels and want to taste them critters while they are fresh.

That would rock if we went to B12 with UCF and Miami, RayJay would be packed most weekends.

Now, I don't know if i totally believe Yoda... but your statement is correct.  Between WVU, UCF, and Miami (who already draw) there are other teams that would help us fill RayJay every weekend. For this team to keep growing we need butts in seats.  That brings in dollars, both through ticket sales and "donations" which allow the school to get and retain quality coaches and keep the facilities top notch.  Please let Yoda be right on this one... and please let FSU either go to B10 or stay in ACC.

Simple explanation is UL does not own the bball arena, the city does and pays UL basically $40mil a year to play there. The city is losing a huge amount on the deal even with naming rights. The need a NBA team in there soon or the city might end up taking a major hit with it or breaking the existing contract with UL that pays that much.

Are you saying that paying $40 million a year for a place to play basketball is a bargain??

I say we take the $25MM and buy the rights to rename UCF's frying pan.  Then we can paint it all green and gold and they can have the PA announcer say "Welcome to USF stadium".  Kinda like when the St Pete Times bought the naming rights to the Forum in Tampa.

God I hope this happens... but in the end is a watered down ACC any better then a new more regional conference?

i think so. at the very least it gets us more money from the tv contract.  plus, fans would most likely rather come out to see a game against UNC or WF instead of Houston or Temple.

DAC - Dixie Atheltic Conference

Let's go for the Southern-Atlantic Conference....but let's call it the Big Southern Atlantic Conference..or the Big SAC
