  1. I think the school paper should be more "Pro" than trying to tear down the university ... tabloid writing

It is not the job of any newspaper to promote any team, that's what PR departments are for. Last time I checked, that was John Gerdes and Co.'s job. I don't want to read any newspaper that can't strive for impartiality. The first job of a newspaper is to report the facts. The second job is to entertain. I applaud Mike's effort to report the fact that nobody showed up to see this event in a somewhat humorous fashion.

And as for tabloid writing, well that part is true - because the Oracle IS a tabloid - which simply means it reads like a book. The New York Post is a tabloid too. The opposite would be a broadsheet - like the St. Petersburg Times and like what the Tampa Tribune used to be before it shrunk to a thinsheet.

Just my USF Mass Comm education coming out ...

  2.  Paschal had a great eye for talent.

Are you kidding me? This is the same guy that went in to the Dollar household and gave us Chad, while brother Cameron went on to greatness. This is the same guy that gave us the likes of Donzell Rush and Jarvis Jackson. True he also have us Dobras, Alexander, Russell, et all and he remains my favorite hoops coach of all time (because he got us to the NCAA, because he always returned my calls and because he let me drink beers in the Green and Gold room after a game), but that statement is a little overinflated.

  3. 1. Chucky Atkins (because I rode in a car with him)

    2. Rodenko Dobras (because I shot hoops with him)

    3. Charley Bradley (because I drank beers with him in Ybor)

    4. Drake Hogestyn (because when he played baseball for the Brahman Bulls he went by Don, now he goes by John Black and because I talked to him)

    5. Monique Metzcus (because I used to go to the volleyball matches in the early 90s just to see her in uniform, oh and I talked to her too)

  4. Furman, Western Kentucky, Ga. Southern, New Hampshire, William & Mary, James Madison and Delaware.

All top 10 I-AA teams that could join for football only.

Only problem? Attendance was 8,812; 7,318; 6,053; 3,304; 8,875; 13,904 and 13,707, respectively in their last home games.

Why not pluck the Owls and Golden Panthers from the Sun Belt (if they ever get enough attendance)?
