  1. Absolutely agree Sheriff. The offensive scheme needs to change. Crossley ran 9 times for 44, Hall 8 for 41. Several times each out of our garbage spread. That's 5 yards per carry for with either one of them. So run the **** ball. When we ran the ball, we moved the ball. That is until Hobbie decided to go back to the spread and throw the ball around for no reason. Banks was 12-22 for 104 yards. But his longest completion was 29 yards (which by the way was a short slant that Chambers ( I think) made into a long gain). So take out the 1 pass for 29 and He's 11-21 for 75 yards. That's not quite 7 yards per completion. So if I'm the OC, I would hope to be smart enough to GET THE HINT! If I'm getting 5 per play running and less than 7 throwing, I'm going to run the ball. Right? Julmiste was horrible, going 2-10 for 7 yards. And most of his misses weren't even close! Oh yeah and when we did line up with the QB under center, we didn't throw the ball once. And we were still able to run the ball! So make that the base formation (one back, two back, I, Pro-set, whatever) and install some play action passes! The schedule's not getting any easier so change it now!
  2. OK I was at the game and Banks is worse now than he was last year. Why? 1. He looks completely rattled before the snap. Seems like he has no idea what is going on. 2. He looks at his primary receiver and no one else. Ever! He is the king of telegraphing his passes. 3. His short passes (almost entirely in the flat to receivers with no blocking), are weak and often inaccurate. This results in the 3-4 yard gains you heard in the broadcast. 4. His long passes are rainbows which take so long to reach the receiver that there is usually double coverage. USC could easily have had 3 interceptions instead of just one. 5. He had all day to throw last night and did absolutely nothing. He was not pressured once. He's so focused on his primary receiver, that he missed several open receivers. 6. He inspires no confidence in the team. In fact the frustration from the rest of the offense is already starting to show. Julmiste is not much better, but that's for another thread. I definitely agree that I do not want to see Banks on the field for us again!
  3. I've been reading about this for a while now and my question is why would the coaching staffs want to move this game (Money is not the answer from a coaching perspective)? We have Tennessee Tech 5 days later and Pitt has Ohio. Granted these aren't the most formidable foes on our respective schedules, but certainly moveing the game will affect preparation. Besides, we already moved this game to accomodate Pitt's scheduling needs.
