  1. Put in a nice baseball stadium and recruits will come. UCF only averaged 100-200 when we played in old stadium. Now we can get 600-800 hundred a normal basis. Sometimes even hitting 1,500-2,000. I'm sure recruits would rather play in a nice new stadium with people in it. You guys are in a great area for college baseball recruits. No reason not to be a top 25 team at least every other year. ***For the record you guys blasted ECU today if you didn't notice*** Build it and they will come.
  2. I think it was pretty fair. Our players are still really young. It will take until next season to recover from the loss of all the scholarship players. Mike Walker will be a great player...Much depends if Moffett can step up at QB. Adding an extra year of development and added scholarship depth should have some improvements.
  3. Does this really matter? I think most question numbers if you inflate for everything else. I don't see the purpose of inflating spring game attendance, so I wouldn't doubt you had 3,000. Do you guys charge money for the spring game? UCF had a spring game a few years back, but it was open to the public.
  4. This is a pretty bad year for NFL talent with Florida schools.
  5. It would be nice to play some florida schools along with a conference USA schedule. FAU, Miami, and S. Fla would work for me.
  6. Troy is playing well. I noticed they had announced attendance of 1,100 for Sunday's game with Georgia State. South Florida took 2 of 3 from UAB. Not a bad weekend for the bulls. FAU is looking pretty good too.
  7. from ucfathletics.com "ORLANDO - UCF (35-8) looks to complete its first season sweep of I-4 rival USF (22-19) since 1995 Tuesday as the Golden Knights venture to Tampa to take on the Bulls. The monster blast landed at shortstop on the practice field, adjacent to Jay Bergman Field. 8. Much easier to sell tickets playing even playing Rice, Tulane, and East Carolina. Playing Garner-Webb, Campbell, and Jacksonville isn't going to cut it. When you say UAB, Tulsa, UTEP...The semi-causal fan at least has heard of the school.
  9. We gave up the true spring games about 3 years ago. We had at least one major injury every game. From the reports we are playing much better....maybe not saying much but at least we are going to be a little better. I'm not sure if FAU or FIU does a Spring game or not. UF makes a big deal of the spring game. They had 58,000 in attendance.
  10. It's a little different these days. We have been spending money on basketball. You can only make so much money in our current arena. It barely seats 4,000 and we played a bunch of no names. I would think attendance will jump playing in the C-USA and building the new arena. Even if we sell out every night means peanuts in our current arena.
  11. Basketball is a tough sell in Orlando. Add to the fact that we make it pretty hard for any casual fan to get motivated about it. 1) The current arena- enough said 2) The Atlantic Sun- Playing Garner-Webb, Jacksonville, and others has horrible attraction for the fans. 3) Lack of T.V coverage- mostly b/c of 1 & 2 The C-USA should increase our fan base, but our current arena really limits us. The upper area of the arena is tough to watch the game with the bleacher style seats.
  12. If someone made some early noise in the SunBelt, would anyone here it?
  13. Smazza....Do you mean the guy that couldn't make the back up QB at Auburn? Just messing with you ;D
  14. Pretty much the way I looked at it. Worth a shot...
  15. Hey, maybe he could be one of the exceptions to the rule. The problem is he doesn't have the skills like Hamilton or other shorter QB's. Moving Denson to defense like Auburn did isn't a good sign that he can compete at the D-1a level. Maybe he will prove me wrong, but I don't think he will beat out your other QB's. Maybe he is interested in playing Defense at South Fla?
  16. I'd probably say he would be ok at CB. He seems a little small for that position too. I don't think he will ever be the QB at South Fla....JMHO. I think he should of went D-1aa if he wants the chance to QB. Not sure what he is looking at doing.
  17. This guy is not a QB. You have better QB's on your roster. UCF had Rivera, who was a top 25 rated QB in high school. You see how well those recruiting rankings work.
  18. are you guys playing in the lake?  It's been raining for about 4 days straight in Memphis. ÂÂ
