The Miami game is the only home game I will be missing this season as I will be in Vegas that weekend for the Raiders home opener on 9/22. Of course this assures a USF dramatic come from behind victory over Miami since I won’t be there to see it in person
-
My advice to everyone is to really really enjoy these six home games with Byrum at the helm this coming season. Get to RayJay and see #17 while you can.

I hope that byrum stays through his senior year, but coach has to be thinking about the possibility of not having brown in 25…who will b our qb? One of the fellas backing up this year? Hewlett?
I think Izzy Carter came back knowing that he would be in the drivers seat for the starting QB job after Byrum transfers after this season.

Lambert is a Big XII shill that desperately wants a P3 instead of a P2 ....
That makes sense. I was wondering why those Big 12 idiots on Twitter are so hopeful for the demise of the ACC. Now I know.

How the Big 12 has been able to survive and thrive in all of this conference realignment madness, I will never understand.

Replacing FSU has value. FSU leaving means fewer viewers for the ACC. So while, you are right the footprint is not expanding ... adding USF prevents contracting.
Does USF even draw decent tv ratings in Tampa? Are the locals even watching ?

I am still of the opinion that when the OCS opens in September 2027, USF will still be a member of the AAC. I think it will be the early 2030’s when USF will finally escape from the cesspool that is the AAC.

Yes many college kids party into the wee hours of the morning across the country. It doesnt mean they deserve to get shot. Plenty of people get robbed or killed during the day as well.
Back in the 90’s, when I was going out with my friends, there were after hours clubs that actually opened at 3am, including a few in downtown Tampa on Franklin St. It’s a different world after 2am for sure.

So you all agree that our fanbase is contingent on who we are playing. That is not going to help us.
Nobody seems to understand that we need to be excited to see OUR team play against anybody. That would be the kind of fanbase that we would need. We don't have that, not even on this board it would seem.
We might get into the ACC but it will be in its death throws like the Big East was. When it falls apart or gets watered down into the next AAC everyone will be miserable again.
I think we were spoiled by that Big East invite.
It’s the curse of playing in a pro sports town that is used to major league sporting events. The P5/4 is considered the major leagues of college football and the G5 is the minor leagues. Minor league sports do not draw well in a pro sports town. It’s why the UFL/XFL/USFL would never draw in Tampa.
When USF is perceived to be playing once again in the major leagues, the fans will return.

Maybe UNC, but who cares about losing virgina [sic]
Always thought that Thomas Jefferson was overrated so it would be fun to beat up on the school that he founded .

Have a little faith! From 1-11 to 7-6 in one year? Even if we get half the improvement…that would be 10-3! That could put us in the aac championship game and send us to a CFp game! Smu is gone, so the top 2 aac teams should b Tulane and utsa…utsa had one loss in conference…
My prediction is still a two game regular season improvement from 6-6 to 8-4. There are just to many question marks on defense, including a questionable DC, to make me go any higher than 8 regular season wins.

I can understand that argument…but the hurricanes were such an interesting squad last year…the beat tamu and Clemson , but they lost to gtech…
We will have to see . I have us at 8-4 for this upcoming season. Losses to Alabama and Miami and we trip up twice in conference play. It will be another middling bowl appearance. Golesh will return for Year 3, Byrum transfers out and Carter/Tate will battle for the starting QB position in 2025.

I agree…we have to show improvement…we get Memphis and uab at home…we don’t play utsa in the regular season…should win a minimum of two of our OOC games…id like to split bama and Miami…that would be a huge deal…it would be awesome to walk into conference play 3-1…
I think we should go 2-2 in OOC play. I don’t think we will beat Miami

Does anyone really care about G5 rankings ? Just another way of establishing G5 as the minor leagues. I hate college football just a little bit more with each passing day.

If we don’t win a minimum of 8 games, I would consider it a very disappointing season.

Such minor league BS.

Byrum has a chance to make it to the league. Of course he will be getting drafted from another school if he does.

BB will 100% transfer unless he has a bad year.
Agreed. That is why I am clearing my calendar this fall to catch all six home games with him at QB. I know he is gone in 2025 so I will get to enjoy seeing him play live while I can.

It’s the new world of college athletics and being stuck in the minor league AAC. Just wait until the uproar after next football season when #17 transfers. Hope Izzy Carter is ready.

COLLEGEFOOTBALLNEWS.COMI think 8-4 would keep Golesh around for Year 3.

I still stand by my prediction that USF will still be in the AAC when the stadium opens in 2027.

All I am expecting is a better record than last season. I will be very disappointed if they don’t win 8 games minimum.
