I am very well aware that there was a separate HOF event and at least one positive article written, but Q was covered in the game today for less than 10 seconds...the entire HOF part was maybe a minute. I admit that I was not in my seat for all of halftime so perhaps there was something recognizing him then and will retract this statement if I am mistaken. Assuming I am not, seems like a massively blown opportunity to spotlight a guy who might be the greatest player ever for us. Really baffling to me that this wasn't a huge and extremely widely publicized thing. I met Q while tailgating and he was with a few guys...played catch with my son, spent a ton of time with us...but he was not properly exalted the way he deserves to be.

I somewhat agree. To be honest, I’m not sure what could have been done at any part of this season that would’ve felt adequate.
I had the exact same sentiment on senior night when he played his last game to a stadium peppered with a few fans. We came up short. Hopefully, when the stadium opens in a few years, they can honor all of the HoF again.

Past that point and just want him gone.  I missed most of the game yesterday due to travels but people say the kids are still fighting for him??? If we did not make any stops on a terrible team on defense the whole game then how bad is this team if they were out there fighting?? Are we sure this team hasn’t mailed it in for the most part or Temple hanging 50 plus is the result of the kids playing with heart?  Serious question, I am guessing he has lost the locker room, would like for you to explain how this team is still playing hard for him.

What I was saying is that they’ve fought for him “for the most part.” Yesterday, I saw the D mail it in for sure. As bad as their record has been for the last three years, it amazed me how long they lasted. Now that it’s official, I hope he lands on his feet and finds success somewhere. Go Bulls!

I don't know if that is true.  It's the one where he lost that most of the small part of the fan base that was still in his corner.

Well… that too Dr. Evil. 😉
Just feel like the effort in tackling went from bad to worse, even when they were in position. Maybe , it was the DC that lost the defense.

  4. Do we know if he’s had surgery yet? Has he made a statement since his injury? His best, most impactful quality is his leadership, I believe. I’m hoping he comes out and makes that powerful statement that assures the fan base he’s committed to getting well and leading this team next year.

  5. My take: The obvious advantage I think BYU will have is their O-Line vs our D-Line. Although improved, we still lack the big bodies to wear their line down. So I expect running game wearing us down as the game goes on, thus opening up big pass plays down the field.

LBs will get a workout, and if they’re smart, they’ll run towards Grier. He’s our best linebacker by far but his strength is pursuit, speed and lateral movement. Run at him and it’s easier to block with a lineman.

I think our O is improved but we’ve always had good skill players. The difference might be the intentional effort to play to our strengths. I hope it is. Also, I think the rule of averages should be in our favor. We’ve sucked long enough, maybe the gods will smile down on us. Go Bulls!

  6. I know this is going to be anticlimactic, but I posted the original message, not intending to be anonymous. Then, I wondered how people would receive my “screen saver crashing perfectly into the corner” moment when it went from 1.3 to 1.4 after looking at it 10 times a day for at least 1.5 year. The season needs to start already!

  7. I don’t love how the game ended to say the least. They ran the right play. It wasn’t there, throw it away. Live to play by another down. But if you go back and look at the lack of urgency, not panic, urgency, it might be the most frustrating thing. We should have had more time to begin with. Also if you look at that last play, Mitchell was motioning for him to spike it. Never leave a game up to he refs.
