Well I heard that he's already decided to come back.

Only problem is that if he was told at his evaluation the same thing that I’ve been reading most places (that he has solid Day 2 potential) I just don’t see what he has to gain by coming back. There just aren’t a whole lot of TE’s that go earlier than that anymore. Throw in the uncertainty on the offensive side of the ball with the sheer incompetence of the staff as a whole, and I’m not sure I’d be signing up for that if someone waived a few mill in my face.

The vibe I am getting from Kelly and the administration with the “calm” PR campaign is we don’t have much money and we don’t have the facilities (in football) to compete with our peers in this conference much less a bigger conference.

So they are going to focus on fundraising and incremental change. When you listen to Kelly’s sit down interview on TDS back on 11/20, he said he needs the fans expectations to be tempered by financial realities. Basically it sounds like he is going to let this play out and get USF on a budget. I wouldn’t be surprised if CCS goes 4-8 next season, that he will stay. Feels like a Lovie Smith situation at Illinois.

How exactly is paying a coach 2.5 million a year to go 4-8 getting on a "budget"?

I think Cincy, Memphis, Temple, Navy, UCF is a decent schedule. UConn is trash & SMU is assumed to be trash even when they have decent seasons. replace SMU with Houston & the conference schedule would be as good as it gets on paper. ECU has the potential to win an occasional big game or get ranked on an odd year but they also have the potential to be trash so from a "national perspective" they are kind of a neutral entity.

as for Wisconsin they will likely end up in preseason rankings off program reputation alone, altho I don't anticipate another Top 10 or Top 5 ranking for them the way they had going into this season.

my ultimate point is that USF still has a stronger overall program tradition than UCF despite the recent success & hardware UCF has. USF is more in the Boise category & I think that AND a strong schedule would give USF greater potential to crash the CFP than UCF.

Hate to break it to you, but no one outside of our fanbase remembers/cares that we were once in a better conference. No one cares that we beat Auburn, Florida State, and Notre Dame a decade ago. To say we have a stronger overall program tradition than UCF and/or Boise is asinine at this point. They've won a combined 5 BCS/New Years 6 bowls now, we've yet to even compete for a conference championship. Truth hurts, but we have watched the gnats completely pass us by in the last 5 years and they are in the process of lapping us now.

Again, look at what he did at Louisville with a good team. He had a 72-0 game in there, you don't do that if you're squeamish about running up the score. I don't think this is true. He's either not involved enough in the offense, his OC is terrible, or, his team just isn't as good as some people think.

I think it's all of the above.

    False.

I've gone through the doors all season by showing my ticket to the attendant   . . .   things changed.

If you had to go to the other door a section away, bet you would be "up in arms".

For the record, I have not heard anyone "up in arms" . . .

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you don’t have club access. Click the below link. Only tickets in red, yellow, or green sections have club access. Just because the attendant at the top of your section has been letting you through, it doesn’t mean she’s supposed to. Your ticket will say “Club Access” on it in big letters if you’re permitted in the club.

Ok 206 also has one...very strange.

240 and 206 do not have club access for USF games. Not sure why everyone was all up in arms about this. They put those signs at the top of the aisles where people have been sneaking into the club all year without having seats that actually have club access.

Talk about dynamic pricing - those sideline seats are being sold for $165 each today on the primary market.  Hopefully we do need to open the upper deck.  Just sell one side as general admission for $25 if it's needed.

    GO BULLS!

I just don't see us getting enough people who are gonna wanna go unless both teams are undefeated. The lower bowl is about 40-45k when completely full, I find it hard to believe we'd be able to surpass that unless the stadium is 25% gnats fans.

Didn’t Jurich hire Petrino despite his dirty laundry...after Long fired him?

Do you really believe, Jurich is the reason the Cards are in the ACC?

How much of a local tie is owning an investment/rental condo on Clearwater Beach?

You must be a blast at parties

The 64 million dollar question is...why would TJ want the job?

If he still has the desire to work in this business, he knows he's not getting a call from any program with a higher profile than ours. Not to mention he already has a condo in Clearwater and from all reports has a very good relationship with Strong.

Everyone goes for the bigger money, better school. They call that "life."

Did they ever say what his new contract looks like? Because someone on 247 dug up the previous Utah Ad's contract and he was making the exact same amount down to the dollar as Harlan was here. Both were at $520K, and that was after he had been with the school for 31 years.

Sheer numbers id imagine have the most to do with it. A lot of colleges have baseball programs that can produce MLB talent and High schools are also in the mix. A few picks in the later rounds are favors as well and might not be so much about the scouting report, as those picks aren't really expected to sign anyway. Plus with guys like Genord, you can draft next year and pay him less because he wont have any leverage.

I get the sheer numbers part, but it's crazy to think Genord's not one of the top 1,200+ draft eligible players. Just look at his numbers vs Alec Bohm from Wichita St, the kid who went #3 overall.

    Genord .306BA 16HR 53RBI .633SLG

    Bohm .339BA 16HR 55RBI .625SLG

Not to mention Genord put those numbers up in 10 less games started and 44 less At Bats.

Obviously, I understand there are many other factors that in play, it just perplexes me in this one instance.

Why wait for someone in the know before you write an article ******** about USF's failures? Complain first, gather information later.

They obviously asked someone in the know, and for whatever reason, they chose not to get into the reasons for why they decided not to submit an application.
