I don’t post much. As Brad knows, I’ve been around since the beginning. I was an original Bull Backer and Leavitt disciple. I am an alum of USF. I am pretty passionate. I wore the leather helmet back in the day and still wear my custom made big East number 97 jersey. I had season tickets since day one and have sat through a lot of tough games. Though a leavitt fan, I can admit he never got us over the hump. And I’ve defended Jeff Scott to my friends saying he inherited a mess. But Im pretty sure a Leavitt-coached team would not have let them drop 50 on us at this stage of our development. This isn’t a bring back Leavitt thread for all of you haters. That ship has sailed. We didn’t know what to expect with new transfers on D and the great Bohanan. I’d like to blame the QB and the defense and the coordinators and the play calling. But, I guess there’a a reason we got all those former P5 transfers. They’ suck. Jeff Scott clearly can’t pick talent. Or maybe he can’t coach talent. The only person happy tonight is Timmy McClains dad. As usual, I couldn’t leave tonight when we were down by a ton, still hoping for the comeback and still dropping probably $200 on booze in that place. Never again. If we win the rest of our games I reserve the right to retract this. 😜

Probably the most level headed, succinct take on all what's going and the approach that needs to be taken ..... we're also only four years away from double digit wins and top 25 finishes but people want to just ignore that because it doesn't fit in with their ******** about the last decade. It definitely sucks right now and I get the frustration but hopefully things improve enough that those fans planning to bail on the program reconsider.

    Timing is everything.

If we were in top 25 last season than we are in the B12
If we went to a big bowl game in 2017 we are in B12

If the other schools had bad luck with there coaching hires they wouldn’t have been invited

We need to make the best of this and that’s playing better teams by going indipendent. This is more important than ever.

What name recognition? We don't have any name recognition just like we have no business being in the P5 conversation.

spacer.pngEven with the shortcomings from football these past couple of years we still top 50 above other power programs.  We are still recognized around the nation as a top program that achieved a lot of sucess not long ago. Yes there is recognition

  4. We would be better off going indipendent. We could schedule P4 teams pretty easily because of the Florida talent and our name recognition. If we do then the stadium would be filled and the OCS is a mute point and we could win meaningfull games. AAC like this is not going to playoffs let alone how AAC was before. So that doesn’t matter. USF is better than this and we can’t have FIU or FAU on the same level. Academics alone could take a big hit in perception being associated with them.

Would've liked to see LA Tech instead of UNT from the CUSA choices. Can't believe SMU ok'd UNT. Can't believe USF ok'd FAU.

ESPN screwed us again by not letting us raid the SBC. Outside of the MWC, the most exciting options were there.

It’s unbelevable. So SMU was okay with  UNT but also Rice and UTSA? We are okay with FAU? There’s alot of better programs to chose from and we will elevate these ones? SMU can at least decide to move to the MWC but our only other reasonable option is to go independent. Stick a fork in us we’re done.

Yeah, like having rich alums that can just pay off your ranking like FSU does.

I saw a story on UF’s president ranking there school really high (like they were Harvard) and then ranking everyone else low

  7. An oCS won’t effect our attendance as much as winning. The big problem is the mishires by the administration, nobody wants to watch the product CCS put on the field and CJS is off to a bad start. I’d argue that playing in RJS has benefits that attract casual fans and corparations that an OCS can’t even offer because we never had a problem with attendance when we were winning and had some of the highest attendance in CFB.

This was our failure all along. The quality of it almost doesn’t matter. They built it and people came.

UCF does not have a world class stadium. But their game day environment is FUN for all. Kids, parents, donors, students.

Quality matters if we don’t want what we build to fall apart in 15 years. It’s falling apart already and was built in 2008. We have a much better experience in a mich nicer stadium at the moment

The other thing that irks me is that had we built an OCS at our peak when 35K+ fans were coming out regularly, it might’ve done wonders for the North Tampa community. People don’t realize that other business infrastructure comes along (granted its mostly bars and stuff) with an OCS. Every time one of my HS students comes back from touring USF, they always talk about how **** the surrounding area is and how there is nothing to do it seems like (besides drive 25+ minutes to get to South Tampa).
It’s just a shame everything USF athletics could’ve done when they should’ve.

A small 35k seat stadium would have been a terible idea. We would have no seats for big games, and when we are good it’s to small for regular games. Then we spend more money to expand it

They'll spin it as "there's a difference between being supervised by a HC As DC and being a head coach, especially when he's returning to the scene of the crime"

They'll also play it up as USF being desperate and making a deal with the devil

Whatever. CJL was trying to toughen up a bunch of the weak minded players on that squad. This is why most young men play football, for guidence. He should have never been fired in the first place, but we have higher morels unlike the nigits.
