CWT has always been conservative, but it's to a major fault.  He has to take the reins off QF and actually trust the game in his hands.

Everyone is jumping on QF, but had ADams caught that TD that he dropped on a good pass by QF and the defense plays better than letting the WR get behind them with a minute to go in half. We could had been up 17-14 at half.

The defense did not play a good game and the WRs did not help either QB in catching balls that should had been caught.

Overall this is a TEAM loss no one had a good game

He should have said "We couldn't afford another 8 minute drive to score, Bench gave us a higher risk higher reward opportunity to catch up in the limited time".

However I applaud a man who keeps his word.

I mean he had no help from his receivers, who dropped 2 touchdown passes. Could he have made a couple of more plays? Of course, but he did nothing to put usf in a losing situation.

1.  Johnson didn't drop that pass, Bronson knocked it out, on accident, because he was in the wrong place.

Still a wide receiver issue though.

I cannot believe that a head coach would say this.

Not mad at Flowers he isn't good but he didn't cost us the game. Receivers dropped 14 points that and bad Defense cost us game.

 

Receivers dropped 14 points?  I wouldn't really count that second "TD" pass as a drop.  More like a horrible pass that wouldn't have been knocked down if thrown properly.  But didn't we score on that drive anyway?  

 

As much as it would help us, we would not be allowed to score two TDs on a single drive.

You seriously cant believe that SB is a worse QB than QF.

He also mishandled a snap, fumbled the ball on a handoff, and threw 2 interceptions, one of which was completely his fault.

Maybe a worse RB but QB....honestly how can you make that conclusion.

In the one series SB had he made reads and throws that QF couldnt make all game long...

I have nothing against Flowers. Correct. He did nothing to lose the game for us.

My opinion of Flowers and I guess of the whole offense is that they don't play winning football. My best description is our offense plays AT football. We run plays. Usually that don't matter. Other than D'ernest Johnson we don't have anyone we can really call a playmaker. Even as much as I like Mack, he seems like nothing more than a talking point and stat maker. Not really a playmaker when it counts.

There is no spark whatsoever to this offense. We run out. Run some plays and more often than not punt.

Even on the long drive today we were down by 3 scores. The defense was happy to let us run almost 8 minutes off the clock. They gave that us. Had Flowers been a playmaker he could have been throwing out patterns, stop the clock or at least been picking up 12 to 15 yards a pop. Not a 17 play drive 3 yards a play for 8 minutes. What winning offense does that? No sense of urgency. Like I said. It is playing AT football. No different than throwing the ball around the backyard.

Flowers is limited. Does what he can. He is fine with what he is asked to do. I just don't see anything that shows he can make plays to win games. He just runs plays.

A lot of it was the play calling as well, way too many bubble screens that only lost us yards.

People are on the Flowers train because Bench sucks.   Taggart should never have subbed coming off a long scoring drive.  Bench threw tow ints in one drive... fumbled a snap... threw two bad passes... then the one to Bronson that should have been caught was still high.  Bench has done **** since he's been here... at least Flowers moved the ball... Taggart needs to be fired.  Allen too... the entire staff must go.

I agree with most of what you are saying, but the offensive and defensive coordinators just got here and have showed some promise so far, especially Allen.

Agreed but you have to admit he just cant make all the throws. As soon as Bench came in for the 4 or 8 plays we went throw throw throw...

Why?? Because QF cant do throw the ball. I would say SB can run more of the offensive game plan than QF so who really gives us the best shot to win? I dont know but I think we see what QF offers, should we not see what SB can do? 

 

If we dont see him then we are basically saying we are done for the season...

I agree with what you are saying, but I feel like he needs more opportunities to pass that aren't 3rd and long. Give him some short slant routes or something to build his confidence.

Here's what I don't understand. Last year everybody was mad at Willie Taggart for switching quarterbacks too often and not picking one guy. This season he picks quinton flowers as the quarterback, who has played decent so far, and everybody complains about him not using bench. I can guarentee you that if he makes this switch everybody will be mad that he doesn't stay with a quarterback, so you guys who are saying this, which is not everybody, are giving him a lose-lose situation when it comes to quarterback.

I have been since he got here last year and I still will be until he leaves. While he does have some poor passes, he's a playmaker. We saw bench come in and mishandle a snap, almost fumble a simple handoff, and throw 2 interceptions. I'm just hoping that woulard can come in sometime this year because he is undoubtedly the best qb on this team.
