I was a bit surprised this thread was still going and at the top of the page no less.

Holtz teams sucked just as bad as CWT's teams have so far. Difference is, for me, there was no hope for Holtz. And right now all I have is hope for Taggart teams.

Holtz teams had almost as many marquee wins in a season and a half that Leavitt did in his entire career.

I said ALL doom and gloom if we win. There will be some threads about how we are improving...maybe a couple. The rest of the board will probably be doom and gloom.

If Willie is still here, which I fully expect him to be, I'll still renew my season tickets. I just can't see USF firing him yet, not that his firing wouldn't be justified. I think he'll get more time based on his success on the recruiting trail and hope that success on the field will follow.

My group suffered thru some bad quarterbacking when we 1st got season tickets. I remember when Matt came off the bench and led us to the win. I had no idea who this kid was but I sure liked how he played ball. We left that game thinking "we may have something here...finally!"

We could have a big comeback win against a crap team and some folks will declare our QB NFL ready....remember that game! Still makes me chuckle. Good times. Everyone was pleased with that outcome. Pretty sure everyone was in a poor frame of mind by halftime but we were all happy with the win. If we beat SMU, I don't think it will be all doom and gloom around here.

Word! We were early to the stadium and no freebies at our gate. Get to our seats and we see a smattering of these cool hats. I immediately assumed these were the giveaways and must have been very limited quantity. Bumming that I missed out.

Brutal day for me. Got to RJS early and in my seat and still didn't get a free hat. Bummed out.

Holtz was absolutely terrible. Anyone that says they miss him at USF is a UCF fan.

I actually think the o-line is better. Last yr, Mack would have had no chance to score. Last yr our QBs were under constant pressure every snap and too many penalties. We needed to run the ball last night and have good QB play to have a chance. We got neither. I swear it seems like coaches play the chess game too much in strategizing...ie - Cinci thinks we're gonna run it so lets throw it all over the place. Which might have worked if our QB didn't poop all over himself.

Agree that we can't fire him this soon. Gotta give it more time and remind ourselves how young these kids are. A rebuild project like USF ain't gonna be easy. But man we look bad. There have been times that the team shows some promise.

He's a freshman QB who is being red shirted. He's not going anywhere. He's the future of the program.

I agree that Bench isn't the answer. Unfortunately, White looked so glaringly bad that it's easy to argue against making him the starter. I blame the game plan to throw that much against a bad Cinci run defense. I made a post pregame that I wanted to see good O-line and run lanes that opens up play action. Coaches hardly ran the ball. Don't understand it.

looks we have no CB on Shaq Washington. Always looks like the tackler is coming off of covering a different Cinci player.
