I don't know why AC has a fear of the bucket, but he needs to lose it or sit
.
Agreed
-
Like I just said, Ziggy has the athleticism. We need something from outside though before Memphis pulls the D more inside
-
****! He should have pulled up from 15
-
Guerrero's going to be special
He can do a little bit of everything. I like him. Awesome potential
-
Mamphis bailed us out that time. Morillo was waaay out of control
Yes sir. We need someone that can run the break. Zeigler has the athleticism but he can't finish and idk about his speed
-
A lot of small issues so far aside from shot percentage. Mental mistakes turning into points for Memphis. We have to get focused. Let's get it going

Can't believe this idiotic thread is 5 pages long
It needs something better to talk about.
You have my attention

If we had a winning product, the Dome would be an awesome atmosphere. That place is exceedingly nice compared to other arenas.
Agreed, I've heard it's a really nice arena. I finish school in a few weeks, so next season I intend to be at quite a few games.

True on Mercurius and Holston, I have a different take on Morrillo than some. He seems to have the green light to shoot, which kind of get, but he chucks up a lot of shots and his 41% for me doesn't do it. He has come on a bit more recently yes but sometimes his shot selection leaves much to be desired

Football has a lot of work to do. Basketball has shown flashes, albeit in a terrible season.
Football team is one of if not the most talented team in the conference. The basketball program has a LOT OF WORK before they can turn this sinking ship around. COA really needs to find some guys this spring that must help immediately or he's looking at another losing season. What we got coming in just isn't enough right now.
No, we need guys that can spot up shoot or at least attack the basket. Holston, Morrillo, and Mercurius were supposedly brought in to fix that problem but.....I mean they will shoot, just not efficiently.
-
I can't wait to see where the Basketball program is going. I'm enthusiastic that when COA starts bringing in guys that he will not only know how to pull guys in, but will know how to identify those low key but high potential players. I think we see sparks of that from Guerrero. The football program however, thats another matter entirely

Geez, we are getting blown out by UCF.....
The doubts continue to grow. I really don't see anything positive Antigua has accomplished. Simply unwatchable!
We suck again
Ye of no discipline or faith

This team is God awful. Hard to imagine this team winning anywhere close to 7 under Heath even if the team hadn't seen all of the defections.
LOL .... Just need to leave Heath out of this. You don't have a clue how the team would have looked if he was still here. Maybe worse, maybe better ... just as an FYI, though, Heath's guys scored 55 of the 62 points tonight.
They also went 22 of 60.
I'm not being negative, we know the team has work to do, and we sensible folk know that COA has his work cut out for him. I have faith.

I would go but too much Hw here. I'll be there in spirit

I just meant because it seemed like there was a glimpse of hope. I know we can do plenty with 4 and 3 stars, and I am not putting that down at all. I think Damian Lillard was a two star guy. Either way you are right, I missed the fact he committed.

This thread is silly , esp for a first year coach who had to basically rebuild a team from NOTHING. Give the guy another full season than come back to complain.
But looking at the level of play, the discipline, the improvement to date and recruiting I say Antiqua is doing fine and will have this team in good shape by year 3.
I think year 3 will be a good time to start reflecting. If we end up keeping a lot of the kids we have currently, they will have essentially filtered out by then and then it will be COA's guys
-
I saw an article that didn't even have us on the map for this kid done Feb 5th. Thats disheartening

Kid can finish at the rim if he can get to it. In most of these he is in transition, which COA would like. Just an updated reel I found

If all you're looking at is the final score/box score, then you're not seeing the whole picture. The team has clearly been more competitive over the last handful of games, but have just lacked that extra boost to close out a win. A month ago, the games were over at halftime. The team is improving (at least IMO) even if it's not showing up in the wins columnFurther, out of our last 7 consecutive losses, 5 are by more than 10 points. That is NOT COMPETITIVE at all!
I don't see any positives from Antigua so far.
+1

...COA knows this, and he knows he won't have much time before fans become truly malcontent.
A y f k m.
Our fans are literally the worst and we should close athletics if any but a small brainless percentage are keeping company with these kinds of thought.
Say what you will, fan bases are generally fickle, especially when losing. It's not just ours. But I am sure he is quite aware of this fact.
I did not say that I would be one to become malcontent anytime soon either, I am a COA supporter. He needs a few years and a couple of his own recruiting classes.

How does that work? Are college basketball scholarships year-to-year? This reminds me of the old Bobby Benson movie One on One where he told the coach he shove his scholarship up his ass with the red hot poker.
Very sad to hear that if true.
At the Arena Club before one of the last games Coach Rouca threw out a number like 9 of new faces to expect next year. With only Corey graduating my guess is some of the current roster won't be back.Well Holston, Morrillo, or even Mercurius has to step their weight up because we need shooters, COA knows this, and he knows he won't have much time before fans become truly malcontent. I'm still a COA advocate, and the upside is that we have three seniors next year so that will free up some space as well.
From my understanding they are. I don't know how common it is to actually just not renew it or yank it, I know I hear that it's a little more common for players to leave when they hear they won't get playing time.

That's a lot of fresh faces, I'll be excited either way, but I think COA needs some more of his own guys. Guerrero is one of his and he continues to improve it seems. And of course there is Roddy Peters waiting to get tagged in.
