I dont care what NEB and Dave Glaser say. The majority of the fanbase would be in favor of bringing back CJL.

You want passion from your fanbase? You want to grow up the fanbase again? Bring back the coach whose passion cannot be matched. Michael Kelly and CJL is a winning combo.

How many of “the fanbase” did your poll consist of?

Interesting.  If I'm reading this right, we pay the TSA/Bucs a minimum of $225,000 per game.  That's $175,000 direct costs plus $50,000 in ticket surcharge (20,000 paid tickets x $2.50).  Not meaning to start another OCS thread, but at an average of 6.5 games per year, $1.5 million minimum could pay off a good chunk of debt service over 40 years.  Disclaimer is that I am no finance expert.

It’s 8% per ticket with a max of $2.50 per ticket, not $2.50 per ticket sold.  Only tickets priced at $31.25 or more would incur the full $2.50 charge.

They should 100% pay college athletes

A "college degree" is a joke. 99% of the "college degrees" athletes get are a joke, 99% of the degrees that people get from USF are a joke. I have three of them, I know more than anyone

College athletes are ADULTS, they are over 18, they are participating in a "product", the "product" makes huge amounts of money, and they 100% should be paid.

Look at the list of the degrees USF offers... maybe a dozen of them, actually map to anything going on in the real world. And most college athletes, aren't exactly taking Engineering classes, or Accounting classes, or in the college of Medicine. They have to "short cut" their college education to make time for the athletics

    Read this list of nonsense-

    https://usfweb.usf.edu/academics/undergraduate-majors.aspx

Interdisciplinary Social Sciences? General Studies? Marketing (my degree btw)?

Pay them... pay them what's fair and pay them for what they bring to the university as a product. "They get a free edgur-curtion" is just nonsense

I agree pay them, and then have them pay for the salaries of the coaches and staff who coach,  train,  and mentor them.

So, are you saying your life is a flop because you chose a nonsensical major to earn a degree in?

As far as Frost and Heupel go they both had the benefit of coming into a program that had already done the hard work of selling UCF to Orlando and to many parts of Florida in general. It was less relevant for them.

USF hasn't succeeded fully at that, so having a coach who can sell some sort of affiliation with the state of Florida is massively beneficial.

And since you're so willing to quote only part of my post, but not all of it, why don't you comment on my suggestions for head coach? Go on, I'm waiting. Until you do I'll call you Mr. Broken Pipe-because all you do is comment on problems, with zero ideas on how to fix them! Just like pointing at a broken pipe!

Since you’re not, as far as I know...part of the decision making team in the Selmon Building, why would I waste my time commenting on your suggestions?

    Regards, Mr. Broken Pipe.

Ok lets see...I was wrong on the location. I was wrong the CCS was coaching LV. I was right about CJL coaching. I was right about LV being ranked. I was right about USF winning. So by todays standards that's a passing score. If not I'll get my parents to buy me a passing grade.....$ 🧐    I thank you 2 sports historians. I will sleep better tonight knowing that I am now armed with the correct information.

Glad to hear that you will be sleeping better tonight...your participation trophy will be delivered soon, by UPS, courtesy of Wiki!

Maybe USF should hire Coach Castle as a consultant to help recruit a worthy coach....  He seems to know what it takes to WIN!!

    https://www.maxpreps.com/news/xjzdewS9JUS6W6ZvOfOmRA/winningest-active-high-school-football-coach-in-each-state.htm

433 wins — Bill Castle, Lakeland
Note: Has won seven state championships and a pair of national titles in his 43 seasons, all at Lakeland.

He coached Mike and Maurkice Pouncey, Chris Rainey, Ahmad Black, and many other great college players.  Could also help us with recruiting from Polk.

He's 70 and still motivating kids to win EVERY YEAR!!

And then...USF could play at Bryant Stadium and pack the house!

Stinks for our program either way.  We have to get out of G5 some how or it will be like this for a long time.  Most coaches use us as a stepping stone to greener pastures, which puts us right back to square one.

Most???  USF has had 4 football coaches over 22 years...only 1 (WT) left for greener pastures;  2 were fired, and 1 needs to be fired!

  8. A number of years ago at RJS, after the Bulls knocked the snot out of Georgia Southern (or another tiny school whose players never quit) the USF Student Section loudly booed their players as they left the field and headed into the tunnel.   I found it sad that they stooped to that level.  I guess it made the green and gold painted gang feel big.

You can't play with the big boys if you don't spend like one.  So you can't crow about how you belong in a P5 but then complain about the size of the stakes at the table. $5 million is the price of one season for an upper end P5 coach.  If you're balking at the size of the big blind, it's time to find a new table.

USF isn’t P5, and the aren’t upper end at the G5 Table.
