I was referring more to this year and beyond. Our talent has always been shaky at best, but with BJ starting for 4 years and the talent level growing I would expect the offense to open up more.

Agree... They had a great segment on him after the game on 98.7

Yep. And after listening to that, what he did made perfect sense.

I like the fact that the Bulls employed the Pistol against Nevada and looked to take advantage of Nevada's man coverage since they were loading the box to stop the run.

Pretty sure we've been running the Pistol for about a year. I remember it last week two I think.

I disagree. He abandoned the run game in the second half. Especially in the 3rd quarter when the defense needed it after the Lamar touchdown. USF can not afford to give up on the run. Our O-Line should be able to wear to wear teams down.

  • 3rd Quarter Rushes 10 (3 Murray, 2 Lamar, 4 Daniels, 1 Hopkins)
  • 4th Quarter Rushes 3 (1 Murray, 2 Daniels)

What in the history of USF's running game makes you say that? We can't run against Tenn-Chatt why should we be able to wear down real teams?

Who ever decided to defer to the second half nearly lost us the game.

I would almost always chose to defer. The chances of the opponent scoring on their first 3 possesions is so slim. But having the ball first in the second half can be a 14 point swing in a game.

We had 13 First Downs in the 4th Quarter and Scored. 14!

Landi had at least one catch in the game; did any of the other TEs? Was surprised we didn't at least try a jump ball to McFarland or even Price for one of the two point conversions we tried ...

When we have the ball send one WR, on the side where our sideline is, on a go route. If the play goes nowhere have him trot off the field to our sideline, put in the next guy and run the same route. Rinse and repeat until the corner is done. One of our track stars should be wide open on the 3rd try. :whip:

For sure we have some great TEs that don't get near enough catches.... maybe part of the playbook they plan to use more once we get to the FSU game.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
