With @LauraHomeTeam confirming that Armwood safety Jarvis McCall has signed with USF, Bulls might be done for the day. 19 signed for 2012.

Great coverage by Alex Perlman, Jim Louk, Tom Zebold and the rest of the Bulls Cast crew. Very comprehensive video, chat, and twitter coverage all day today. Huge improvement over years past.

I am okay with the JUCO's. When you have holes (see last years performance for details) then you need to plug them. Our DB's were soft. Need some speed there and hopefully proven performers. Need to fill the hole Scott left us with. Need some OL to replace Sr's.

I thought we did good with pulling in a few critical JUCOs. Remember these guys may have been hot commodities but had to go to juco (grades, etc). And guess what, they got to play for a couple of years, so they now have more experience at a higher level. I think it is a good move. CJL proved it can help to build a program.

Again, I think bringing some of those JC players is good. We definitely have immediate needs. But the more heavy you are on JC's, the less 4-year players you have. We're set to graduate a large percentage of the two-deep. Bringing in a lot of JC's helps us next year, but not down the road. I worry it sets us up to take some steps back a few years from now, which I wrote about earlier in this forum. I think the lack of a QB recruit is a big worry, for example. Once BJ graduates, you've got Eveld, Matt Floyd (no experience yet), and then nobody behind that. Not a ton of competition, and meanwhile nobody new to learn from BJ in his last year here. There's a reason you don't see big programs usually signing a ton of JC recruits. I'm glad we plugged some holes with JC's, but you can't REALLY argue with me here about JC's in general.

Snyder at kansas state recruits a ton of JUCO's. that's why he has such success at KSU. it's also why the program fell apart after he left.it's smart for a 2nd or 3rd tier school to recruit JUCOs. the big boys generally don't recruit there and there is plenty of overlooked quality there. most of those kids had grade problems coming out of high school. not an ability issue.

I believe our two super bowl Bulls were both JUCOs

One big boy, Nebraska, badly wanted both of our two super bowl bound JUCOs. Doesn't anybody remember what was going down on that signing day? Thankfully, both players stood their ground and signed with USF.

Flashback:

Last season at Fort Scott Community College, DE Jason Pierre-Paul really, really wanted to come to USF. Only one problem, his coach wanted him to go to Nebraska. Pierre-Paul’s coach pressured him so much, that on National Signing Day, Pierre-Paul had to go to the school’s library to fax his letter of intent because he said he wasn’t allowed to use the fax in the football office to send it to USF.

Minus a qb, all in all a good solid class. Job well done Holtz & Co.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
