Rivals Radio / Bill King

On satellite radio, there is a daily show from a guy called Bill King.  It is basically 3 hours of College sports every day on his show.  He knows his stuff pretty well. 

Today, a caller from Tampa asked based on USF's mid season drop the past few years, and the coaching change, what do they think of the change with Holtz and his staff.

Bill King went on for about 2 minutes.  He said I would give USF an "F" for the coaching hire, and that is "F" as in fabulous.  He said that that was the absolute best hire USF could have made.  He said that Holtz will build off of what Leavitt started, and will get us to the next level.  He mentioned we had been #2 in the past but didn't deserve to be there.  And then he said this will be a tough year based on our schedule, and that he didn't expect a great record, but that Holtz will improve on that the next few years and we will rise up. 

He was very favorable on USF.  Did anyone hear it?  Was it one of our fellow bullspenner's who called in?

I did not hear it, but that is as good a college football show as there is.  Although Bill is somewhat of an SEC guy.  He has had Skip on the show before and is very high on him.

I'd disagree with that from the standpoint that at the time the first BCS poll came we were undefeated and had more quality wins than any other undefeated team at that point of the season.

he was right. ohio state didn't have as good a resume. we deserved to be #1.

we weren't the best team in the country but we had the best resume. part of the problem with polls is they don't take actual play into account. OU had to lose 4 or 5 games last year before they even dropped out of the top 25.

Bill King has had Skip Holtz on twice since his hire. 

Did not know that, I only catch him during the fb and bb seasons.  And then only for an hour a day.  I like his show, though.  Very good from a national perspective, and not too many yahoo's calling in.

It's sirius 122. I listen to it every morning on the way to work. I'll start listening in the office when the season starts. It streams on the internet too, just google "rivals radio". It's usually a very good show, Monday's during the season are great, he breaks down a lot of games.

I aso listen to the show everyday going to work. Although King tens to focus on the same 9 or 10 schools it is a good program. I have rarely heard a USF caller however.

Bill King is great and his 3 hour show is very entertaining.  He has Phil Steele on last Friday (you can get the podcast) and Phil Steele was giving USF some love also. 

The show is biased toward college football teams in the southeast and the callers do show some hate to the Big 10... another reason to love the program.
