Just saw on Greg Auman's twitter that Coach Holtz said Colby injured his knee in practice, with the severity of the injury still unknown. Kid has had 3 ACL injuries. Hope he learns from the 4th that he needs to step (hobble) away from the game and save whatever he has left in his knee. Can't help but feel bad for the kid after having this happen to him this many times .He's going to hate life when he gets older and can no longer move around. Wish him the best in recovery and hopefully that it's not anything serious.

WARNING: Do not attack Colby Erskin or off the field. Several posts have been deleted already.

We need to wish Colby the best. He's had four knee injuries playing football for our Bulls.

Gotta feel bad for the kid with all these knee injuries.  I've torn and had reconstruction on the ACL's in both of my knees and i can't imagine doing it one more time on each.  Hope he has a speedy and full recovery.

I believe I heard Holtz say when Greg was interviewing him after practice, that Erskin "walked" off the field. So , that is a good sign.

Here is a link to that video. The part about Colby comes close to the end.

Greg has an entry up on his blog about it:

THIS AND THAT: Senior receiver Colby Erskin, who earned a sixth year of eligibility from the NCAA and was attempting to return from a third knee surgery for a torn ACL last fall, injured his knee in practice Saturday. Holtz said he didn't know the severity of the injury. "He walked off the field, but we'll get it tested when we get inside," Holtz said. "It was unfortunate, just a collision out in space." ...

That's shameful. Kid needs to retire from football. If not, when he is forty he might not be able to walk.

Tough break, it sounds like he worked hard to get back on the field this year.

He's going to be in some serious pain in the future.  I wish him luck.

There was no contact on the play. Colby just got mad that the corner kept interrupting the pass and so he walked off the field....since when does that that count as an injury.

This would be a heartbreaking end to a potentially uplifting story.
