This team looks good on paper and Edsel coaches well. 

I would love them to beat the tar out of Michigan.  They're stout in their front 7 on defense, and our recruiting 3 starters on the OL, a great QB, Todman...and have the USC transfer Shumate.  I'd love them to beat UM for the prestige factor for the conference, and the fact it could help with recruiting if Rich Rod gets on the hot-hot-hot seat immediately!

Pre season rankings are meaningless

Based on his deep seated urge to slam USF when he can.  If UConn is ahead of us it's not because they passed us.  They had a much larger head start and knew they were going to be in a BCS conference before we did.

They are not ahead.  What's the matter with you.  USF holds the lead in the all time series vs. UConn, finished with the same identical record as Uconn last year, and lost on a 42 yd FG in the snow at the last second to UConn last year.  USF won't lose to UConn at home this year, they never have.  Mark it down.

A lot of people are sleeping on UConn this year. After watching them against USC in Birmingham (This was pre-decision to go there, so no hard feelings to the Huskies) I wouldn't be surprised to see them get 7 or 8 wins this year, and go to the Pinstripe Bowl.

South Carolina was overhyped for two reasons... 1 the SEC and 2 Spurrier. 

Facts about UConn:

overall road record in the BE is below .500

never beat a team with a winning record on the road

defense was near the bottom of the BE and they loss their top sack leader and 2 from the secondary (below average pass defense)

no real passing game and their top 2 receivers are gone

they play hard, but just don't have enough quality players to put them over the top.

they don't play well when expectation are high on them.
