According to GA the 2002 contract between USF and UF states that we will only get 6,000 tickets... read below.

The simple answer, after checking the initial contract for the game, signed way back in 2002, is that USF is allotted 6,000 tickets for the game in Gainesville. That seems like a higher amount than normal, but there are no "comp" tickets exchanged, which means USF must first accommodate all of its in-house needs -- university personnel, marching band, players' family members and guests.

Once you take those away, only about half the allotment, or 3,000 tickets, will be available on a limited basis to season-ticket holders. The Bulls had more than eight times that many season-ticket holders last year, so this should be one of the toughest -- if not the toughest -- road ticket in USF history.

Thus there will be less then 3,000 tickets for season ticket members and student groups...

Is this correct  ???

You say ONLY as if 6,000 isn't a lot, when in reality, that's more than standard.

Take the FSU game out of the situation, and 6,000 would seem just right. The FSU game was an anamoly for visiting team tickets.

5,000 is the general number that is given out to the visiting team.

Yeah but normally when we get 5K or even in situations where we get 6K there are about 3,000 or so extra comp tickets that are given to the marching band, USF personnel / big wigs, players / coaches families and guests that are not factored into the 5K or 6K that is reported.

With UF they are not giving us comp tickets so in reality they only gave us 3K tickets for this game.

I dont think any tickets are usually comped.

When a school is said to get 5,000 tickets...that includes the marching band, staff, parents, etc.

When you watch on tv and see "larger" visiting sections, that's because visiting fans buy tickets from fans in the nearby sections.

FSU's visitor section at the away game against OU is gonna look huge, because tons of Noles are buying up the sections surrounding the visiting sections.

The visiting section at USF usually never looks very big, because the Big East teams just don't travel as well.

That information Greg had was posted before.

I'd find it pretty hard to believe that less than half of the tickets would be allotted to season ticket holders.

That 3,000 number is accurate from what I've been told.  So if the $10K donors get 4 each, that is roughly about 250 tickets for them leaving 2,750 to be distributed (2 each) to the top 1,400 or so Priority Point people that aren't $10K donors.

I've heard anywhere from 3K-4K. Closer to 3, but most likely more than the flat 3. We'll know after the 15th at the earliest.

You're right, the deadline was the first, I got my dates mixed up.
