Not going strong. Everyone knew pac 10 needed to get 12 and knew it would be Utah. Only expansion talk now is for the Big East taking crappy conf usa teams to get to 10

And leaves the MWC at about where they were before Boise St. came in.  They still have three programs that can be very good, but probably are too weak down the line to get the automatic BCS bid.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP)—The University of Utah has accepted an invitation to become the 12th member of the newly expanded Pac-10 conference.

University president Michael Young says in a release that the Utes are pleased to accept the invitation and join Colorado as the Pac-10’s newest members. With the additions, the conference will have 12 members.

Young says it will be a tremendous jump for Utah both academically and athletically.

Utah has been a member of the Mountain West Conference since it formed in 1999.

Colorado yes, Utah no. Utah has played in BCS games recently.  They have accomplished more than us in football and are a superb addition to the Pac 10.

Colorado yes, Utah no. Utah has played in BCS games recently.  They have accomplished more than us in football and are a superb addition to the Pac 10.

Boise State has played BCS games recently too. I don't think adding them would be a splash either.

Accomplishing more than USF isn't really a way to judge a program, especially when a conference is expanding to get it. Does Utah really add much to the Pac-10? It could've been anyone and been an equivalent add, the big deal is they get their championship game.
