Polowski just announced on 620 that OU may be poised to join the SEC with A&M. I guess one of their coaches at a banquet announced that they were poised to go to the SEC. Very interesting if true.

A couple more articles on the SEC:

First, Texas A&M does not have an invitation from the SEC...

http://www.statesman.com/blogs/content/shared-gen/blogs/austin/bohls/entries/2010/06/12/am_doesnt_have.html

Texas A&M does not have a firm invitation to join the Southeastern Conference and may not receive one at all, a very highly-placed school official at one of the Big 12 schools expected to leave for the Pac-10 Conference no later than Tuesday told the Statesman on Saturday afternoon.

“They don’t have an offer,†said the high-profile figure, who is heavily involved in these conference realignment negotiations. “They do not have an offer. They can’t.â€

The school official said, “I don’t think they are risking anything (by A&M’s indecisiveness), not if they’re looking (at the SEC).â€

He confirmed that is because A&M knows it has a solid invitation to join the Pac-10 along with Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.

Next, A&M would not even be the SEC's first choice... AND there is no plans to take any teams from the ACC...

http://sports.espn.go.com/dallas/ncf/news/story?id=5279963

The Southeastern Conference, reportedly keen on adding Texas A&M amid the onrush of a Big 12 shakeup, would be just as interested in luring Texas and Oklahoma but doesn't see either as a realistic option, sources with knowledge of the SEC's maneuverings has told ESPN and ESPN.com.

An SEC athletic director told ESPN.com's Mark Schlabach that the SEC's first choice would be adding the Longhorns, but might consider taking Texas A&M because it expands the league's footprint into the Dallas and Houston TV markets.

...

Looking beyond the Big 12 for expansion, specifically to the ACC for schools such as Georgia Tech, Clemson, Florida State or Miami, was not in the SEC's plans, sources told ESPN.

The sources saw no way the SEC would raid the ACC and added serious doubt that Virginia Tech could be pried away from Virginia.

The idea the SEC would go after Kansas was also dismissed, though a KU source said that would be a preference for the Jayhawks.
