Its been almost 15 years since the football program was founded in 1995, and we are running down in our opinion the 15 best players in the first decade and a half.

We also announced the 7th Most Important Player for USF Basketball this year

And at least to my surprise, USF was ranked dead last in basketball revenue in the Big East during the 08-09 season

The article states that they think the revenue is for the 2008-2009 season.

didn't the big east get some blockbuster deal with ESPN for it's basketball rights.  It amazes me that the discrepancy is this great.

Media reports have said that it's 33 million split between SIXTEEN teams.

yeah and when you have schools like UL, and Syracuse that are averaging 20,000+ paying fans per hoops game, and we're averaging like 2,500 (i know it's more but the point is clear) the difference is great.  Not to mention those programs have major endowments, and donors, and they receive much more in their local television, and radio deals too because they truly service a region that has high demand to see and watch their games, and they sell luxury boxes too.  I've been to Syracuse about 6 times during hoops season and the region from Rochester to Albany is Orange Hoops crazy.  I went to the Uconn game this year at the Carrier Dome and there were over 24k people in attendance.

This is the problem at USF and why we need the BE more than they need us.  We are fortunate that the BE has more NCAA men's hoops units then any other conference, which is another piece of hoops revenue split up...but from that the good teams also get bonuses for making the tourney, advancing, and for having more televised games.
