MWC only has 1 more criterion to fulfill, and could easily do so if it adds Boise State.

The MWC will absolutely become a BCS conference soon.  The only question is whether it will be the seventh, or the sixth.

the mwc will become a bcs conference if everything stays the same.  with all the expansion talks the mwc might not even exist in a couple years.

So here's the question, tampabull.  In what scenario would the MWC "not even exist"?  I can understand losing a couple of teams to the Pac 10, but in case you haven't checked your DirecTV lineup, THE MOUNTAIN WEST HAS ITS OWN CABLE CHANNEL.  Meaning, if they need to invite additional teams from, say, the WAC, they hold the upper hand in negotiations.

Now, if the MWC loses teams to the Pac 10, they likely lose the BCS AQ bid as well.  But that's a separate issue.  And right now, the Pac 10 is running a tight race with the BE for "Conference Commissioner with his head farthest up his posterior".

More than likely the mwc will exist, but it will probably be raided by the pac 10 and big 12 (if the big 10 takes a team or two).  more than likely if that happens the wac will merge with the mwc, but they will not have a aq bid.  That was more my point, they will not have an aq bid unless everything stays the same as it is now.

The MWC as we know it might not exist, but the MWC will still be around.

Remember there are 18 teams together in the WAC and MWC. Losing 2 to the Pac 10, one or two to the Big 12, and assume C-USA fills a hole with Louisiana Tech, the two could combine to have 12-14 teams. They would probably keep the MWC name, or MWAC or something.

Depending on who is left if they merged, they may or may not get a BCS invite.

OK, I can agree with that.
