The Biggest problem for the football schools, is there are no football schools good enough to take in.  Memphis is probably the best they could get followed by UCF.  We hear at lot about ECU and Marshall and lets face it they put the Big East in the CUSA mode.  The facilities would all have to be upgraded at ECU, and MARSHALL and who knows if they would be willing to do that.  Another cost would be B.B. Coaches salaries and new arenas at ECU and Marshall.  No matter what schools the football side of the B.E. would get, it would be along time for anyone to give this Conf. any respect in football.  The B.B. side of this Conf. would take a hit for some time.  There would be 6 strong teams 2 fairly good teams and 4 nothings.  To do nothing would be a mistake as there  will be more and more grumblings about the 8 team Conf. with a BCS bid, wspecially from the Mt. West Conf. and others.

The B.B. side would keep the Conf. Name Big East and would have NO problem finding 4 good B.B. teams for a 12 team league.

Since there is NO MORE EDITING, I have to reply to my own statement.

About ECU their Football stadium seats only in the 30,000's so that school would be looking at somehwere around 300-400 million for a new arena and  stadium and few cadillac upgrades.  The CARDS arena alone being built is costing 325 million.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
