Advantages/Disadvantages UF game 2010

Hey guys, im new to the board but ive always kept up reading posts and whatnot but I wanna know your opinion on the things we got going for us, advantages/ disadvantages when we play the gators on sept 11. A couple of my insights:

Advantages:

Early in the season

Gators lost a lot of coaching staff ( Strong and the assistants he took)

John Brantley still relatively new

Holtz offensive scheme ( tough for Gators to prepare for, considering no prior games except at ECU which who knows how similar they will be)

BJ Daniels got a year of exp.

Gators lost a lot of players to the draft/graduating

Last time USF under leavitt played Meyer ""the untouchable" at bowling green we won 29-7 ( not really applicable but still nice to know we beat urban)

The perennial underdog status (biggest advantage we got imo) considering it will be our biggest game in program history and to a lot of gator fans just another weak ooc game.

Disadvantages

They are the gators lol

Dan Mccarney was our dline coach

A lot of talent leaving but still great recruiting class coming in

Away game

Lb for Lb they are a more "talented" team

What are some of your guys insights as to how we can somehow pull of an upset?

It will be interesting to see how Holtz gets the team excited for this game. USF always played great in big OOC games under Leavitt. Cant wait to see Holtz motivate the team for this game!

Game is 9/11/2010

Skip has (1) less than 45 practices; (2) several intrasquad scrimmages and a spring game; and (3) a single body bag game against stony brook to install new offense and defense and get this team ready for UF.

Unless, UF plays its worst game in 5 years, we lose.  Sorry to sound negative.  I really love the direction we're taking under skip. . . . . . but we are pretty much asking him to come out the gate and win the school's biggest game in history in his first game as HC (sorry stony brook).

The timing of this game is a HUGE disadvantage.

IMHO - Advantages = in state games allow for a much more lively atmosphere, exposure with playing the final one of the "big 3", on any given Saturday any team has a chance of winning

Disadvantages - if USF comes out flat they get embarassed

I don't see how any result from the game could leave us feeling embarrassed. We could lose 80-0 and it would mean absolutely nothing. Florida is a good team and we have a lot of building and learning to do. That's pretty much where we're at after the coaching change.

We lost a ton of talent, an entire coaching staff, and we have new schemes on offense and defense. Beating Florida at the Swamp is all tall enough order without all those other distractions. This would be an extremely difficult game for some of our best squads we've ever fielded. I hope people can temper their expectations as this season is a big learning experience for everyone. All these posters with 9-10 win season predictions, are going to put this place on suicide watch after every game.
